    Was number 1 in queue for 12 minutes, then got through to be asked if I could hold the line. Still waiting & it's 4 minutes. Are they having a cup of tea?. Once answered should they not talk to you first. Terrible telephone service. Need to sort this out sooner rather than later.

    Dear Anonymous Thank you for taking the time to post a review and I am sorry that you did not have a good experience with the telephone system / your call being answered. We do receive a large volume of calls and answer these in order. Without knowing the full details, I assume that you were at Number 1 in the queue for so long because the receptionists were busy with the previous calls or with someone at the counter. Once their previous calls have ended the new calls come straight through to their phones. The receptionists then acknowledge the new call but sometimes have to ask the caller to wait while they finish dealing with / type up any detail from the previous call, or deal with someone who has been waiting at the counter.     I completed an e consult for my son this morning and within an hour, I've had a phone call and a prescription sent to my local pharmacy. Very speedy service. In todays society we are very quick to complain and slower to compliment, so thank you to the surgery for your prompt response, great service and much appreciated

    I appreciated the GP making me a second double appointment after an earlier single appointment that was insufficient. The appointment was informed and thorough. I appreciated the competence and professional care.

    Dear Anonymous Thank you for your review and I am pleased that you find that your voice is heard. I am sorry that it can take a long time to get through on the phone and that appointments can sometimes be difficult to obtain. We try our best but call times can be very long and appointments sometimes tricky to get when there is high demand for appointments or if some of our receptionists are off sick. If you are set up for online access then you can book doctors’ appointments when they are released rather than wait in the telephone queue. Kind regards, Mark Burgess, Practice Manager

    Cannot book appointments more than 7 days in advance. Have to check back everyday to see if there are any availabilities. Other surgeries have the option to book more than one week ahead. Cannot keep checking or calling for availabilities since I work 9am-7pm. Never any appointments available when I do check. The GPs and nurses are very good. But shame about the appointment booking system. Should have it changed to allow you to select later dates. Especially if you have a message from the GP to say you need an appointment.

    Dear Anonymous Thank you for your 4 stars but I am sorry to hear that you don’t find the appointment booking system as good as our GPs and Nurses. We limit how far in advance doctors’ appointments can be booked to 7 days as we found previously that, if further into the future was permitted, the problem may have resolved by then but that some patients would not cancel their appointments and would just not show up thus wasting the precious appointments. Also, most people now expect to be seen sooner rather than later, and more than a week sounds a long way off. However, I agree that we haven’t got it right with the situations when the doctor wants to see the patient for a follow-up. We are actively looking at improving this as it isn’t satisfactory the doctor saying book in with me in two weeks’ time and then the poor patient tries but is unable to do so.     Following a telephone appt i was offered a face to face appt and follow up Procedures arranged within three days including a hospital clinic for further tests . Efficient and Friendly service .

    The last two appointments I have had, I've had to wait for 40 minutes past my appointment times when there has been very few people in the surgery.

    Dear Hazel Thank you for this and I am sorry that you had long wait times for your last two doctor’s appointments. The doctors do try and run to time but many factors can influence whether they do or not. I have investigated those two appointments and can see why it has happened although that obviously doesn’t make it any better for you. For the first appointment on 03/02/2023 the doctor messaged that he would be late arriving. He eventually arrived almost 50 minutes and, although he managed to catch up a bit, he was still running 36 minutes late for your appointment – his fourth of the morning. I am sorry for the long wait. On 26/01/2023, the doctor’s first patient was involved in a car accident on the way to the surgery and contacted us to say they were running late. They eventually arrived 20 minutes late. Usually, they would not be seen and told to rebook if they arrived that late but we did not know how late they would be and the doctor waited until they arrived (and didn’t have another patient that they could call in early) and, also because of the reason for the lateness, chose to see the patient. That patient was then seen for considerably longer than the appointment length and that, combined with the subsequent three patients also being seen for longer than the allocated appointment time, meant that you were seen 50 minutes later than scheduled. Registrars are given more time for their appointments but this was obviously still not enough and time management is something that she must learn as she progresses through her training. I apologise once again for your wait. I am pleased to see that you were actually seen early for a Nurse appointment between these two doctor appointments. Apologies again for the inconvenience.
