I requested a general health check. The practice nurse took great care to conduct this accurately, and explain her findings to me, providing reassurance about discovery of my unexpected irregular pulse. Subsequent GP appointment was rapidly organised. After my examination by GP she took time to ensure I understood the next steps in this investigation. The waiting time for a 24hr trace via NHS heart monitor was explained. Told to make urgent return appointment if my heart rate/pulse changes, or I feel unwell.

I have never had a poor experience at Plas Meddyg the reception always tries to help, the doctors give me confidence and they seem genuinely interested in your problems.

The medical staff listened attentively to both myself as a patient and my spouse whose observations are often more relevant than my symptoms. There was no rush. The doctor made sure that we both understood the process and progress of my condition. Reassuring and encouraging in every way.

Was number 1 in queue for 12 minutes, then got through to be asked if I could hold the line. Still waiting & it's 4 minutes. Are they having a cup of tea?. Once answered should they not talk to you first. Terrible telephone service. Need to sort this out sooner rather than later.

Dear Anonymous Thank you for taking the time to post a review and I am sorry that you did not have a good experience with the telephone system / your call being answered. We do receive a large volume of calls and answer these in order. Without knowing the full details, I assume that you were at Number 1 in the queue for so long because the receptionists were busy with the previous calls or with someone at the counter. Once their previous calls have ended the new calls come straight through to their phones. The receptionists then acknowledge the new call but sometimes have to ask the caller to wait while they finish dealing with / type up any detail from the previous call, or deal with someone who has been waiting at the counter. I completed an e consult for my son this morning and within an hour, I've had a phone call and a prescription sent to my local pharmacy. Very speedy service. In todays society we are very quick to complain and slower to compliment, so thank you to the surgery for your prompt response, great service and much appreciated

Doctors actually listen to you and are caring Sometimes it’s difficult to get an appointment and have to wait ages on the phone.

Dear Anonymous Thank you for your review and I am pleased that you find that your voice is heard. I am sorry that it can take a long time to get through on the phone and that appointments can sometimes be difficult to obtain. We try our best but call times can be very long and appointments sometimes tricky to get when there is high demand for appointments or if some of our receptionists are off sick.
