Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a vasectomy carried out at the surgery earlier this year and cannot commend the doctor and the wider team enough - I’ve been cared for brilliantly before, during and after the procedure!

Can never get an appointment even ringing at 8.30am you spend an hour in the Que and by time you get through get told no appointments call again tomorrow, it’s ridiculous especially if you work. You can’t get pre booked appointments anymore either.

Review titled Positive outcome
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Re the doctor today, I felt that he listened intently, asked and then also answered my questions fully He confirmed my negative test result. In fact that was the only negative during my whole consultation. He concluded to my satisfaction, by explaining a plan of action going forward, both short and longer term too. My sincere thanks to him for putting my mind at rest, on what was previously of great concern to me

Review titled Just Awful
Rated 1 star out of 5

It’s ridiculously difficult to try and see your own doctor, rarely able to see anyone twice if ou are able to eat an appointment in the first place. I’ve had worsening chest pain for the last few months related to long COVID, when I eventually managed to get an appointment (someone new again) I was asked to return for an ECG and arrange for a blood test. The ECG shows an abnormally and the bloods also show the same abnormality that I’ve had for the last two years but despite this the doctors notes say the ECG is ok and the bloods are to be repeated 3 months time, I have tried for 2 days to get feedback only be told I need an appointment to discuss it which the earliest available is another 2 weeks. 2 weeks of daily pain before I can even discuss why they won’t investigate further and just want to kick the can down the road again. Avoid this place like the plague!

I recently contacted the Stirchley surgery because of breathlessness. Within 20 hours I had blood tests, 2 ECGs, a chest X-ray and contacted 4 doctors not to mention the support from all tha admin staff. I have since had an echocardiogram.Throughout, my treatment has been both very efficient and very supportive, so a big thank you to everybody.

Review titled Eventually I just ended the call out of frustration
by schneiderv958 - Posted on 05 January 2024
I had a bad cold with chest congestion. I rang 111 and they informed me they could not get a doctor that was available to ring me back, but they would get a doctor from my own practice to ring me back the next day. I specified I wanted a doctor and not a clinical practioner to ring me back. I was woken up at 8.30 after finally getting some sleep after a night coughing. A practicing nurse spoke to me, not a doctor although I specified a doctor. This person was impossible, they would not listen to what I was saying would not keep to the subject I rang about and interrupted me everything I tried to give an explanation. Eventually I just ended the call out of frustration. I remember now this same person rang me about 18 months ago and behaved exactly the same in which I had to end the call. I looked on my online medical records the next day and person had written the exact opposite to what I had articulated to them.

Review titled Very impressive service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

After being picked up for high blood pressure at a drop in Covid vaccination centre the information was sent to Stirchley Medical Centre. They have been so thorough in performing, what seemed like, a service and a full MOT! I have spoken to 2 doctors at the Centre who spent time and were very empathetic to my needs. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much for the good service I received.

Review titled Example of a good friendly happy practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have to deal with Stirchley Medical Practice because I am the main carer for my sister who has mental health issues, which involves much medication , blood tests etc. I have had nothing except help kindness concern and great services from all the staff , the lovely people who answer the phones , even if sometimes it can take a while they are always so calm and out to help you. The nurses are wonderful, again service with a smile and the doctors again seem to be so helpful. I know that there may be some bad practices (or the press might think there are) but Stirchley Medical Practice is certainly not one of the bad one, definitely one of the best. We are very lucky to have such a great Practice with great staff. Thank you.

Review titled Nightmare
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Fay meadows - Posted on 09 May 2023
As a family we are lucky that we rarely need to see a doctor. However on the rare occasion I have tried to get an appointment it is just ridiculous. Today I waited on hold (having finally managed to get through to the line) for over half an hour before being told I would need to call back tomorrow at 8:30am to try for an appointment then. I start work at 8:30 and don't then have the time to sit on hold for half an hour or more. I have always worked full time and paid my NI contributions. Would be nice to be able to see a doctor every once in a blue moon. Really unimpressed
