    I have been with Allum medical practice for 22 years. They were excellent when I joined. The last 5 years, not so much. I do think they are trying hard to improve their service. My last 3 experiences have been a very marked improvement. When you are finally able to get an appointment the nurse I saw, and the GP were truly excellent, kind, listened and helped me with what I attended for. The 8 am phone dash to secure an appointment, taking me over an hour on 3 occasions is maddening, you are felt feeling helpless and unimportant. The reception staff are friendly, but some are slow and there is a large turn over of staff to my eye, so they appear to be training new people frequently. They have a huge catchment of patience, and working in the NHS is hard. Not enough staff any where. So be persistent, but respectful and you will get the help you need.

    We have just finished our 3rd set of vaccinations for our baby and the nurse made this a very easy experience. She was quick and efficient and made us feel very comfortable whilst explaining everything clearly

    Had a phone consultation arranged quite rapidly with a doctor which was very efficient. Explained my condition which I have experienced multiple times before and what can be done to prevent it as it impacts my working ability. Was interrupted by the doctor and told that I was asking too many questions and therefore didn't feel comfortable to ask anything further even though I had other questions to ask.

    Today I contacted GP complaining of breathing issues I started to experience recently. I was given appointment same day and Dr contacted me back within an hour. Discussed my recent breathing problems, Dr took time to listen and understand my problem and provided with advice based on his clinical knowledge. Required medication prescribed. Overall I am happy with experience at Allum Medical centre, I have been their patient for more than 10 years. Some people complain about triage system but personally I prefer it as it often saves time for a visit if you only need an advice or certain prescription. If needed Dr would invite to the clinic for physical check and arrange further investigations. I would recommend Allum Medical centre to friends and family.

    I had my smear test today by a lovely nurse. She was very informative as she explained the changes within the testing process. Having had a couple smear tests my experience of them prior to this one was not very pleasant but this one was a great experience. The nurse was informative and more importantly gentle and I didn't need to be scrapped off the ceiling. My experience today just goes to show women's health doesn't have to be an unpleasant experience, thank you.

    Today I attended Allum for a smear test with the nurse. She was extremely kind and patient with me and explained everything clearly and in great detail. I felt very comfortable and was able to also ask her additional questions. It made an unpleasant experience much better for me and I really appreciated her demeanour and professional behaviour. Also I had to obtain sone paper work from reception and the young man in reception was also very helpful. I always have such a good experience at Allum. Everyone that works there from the drs to the nurses and support staff do such an excellent job and always make you feel heard and respected. Well done everyone

    Tried to get a non-routine appointment. Called at 7.57am when the practice was closed. Then again at 8am when I followed 5 minutes of automated messaging to be told that there were too many people on the queue and got hanged up. Finally at 8.15am just to be told that there were no more appointments. In my previous GP, we could book appointments online, both for in a fortnight and for the day. Your online platform doesn't work. I don't know why you insist in such an old fashioned practice that waste both patients and your own staff's time.

    Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. The Surgery opens at 8.00am and the lines are always busy first thing in the morning. I am surprised that at that time there were not appointments available. Monday mornings are extremely busy and we very often have a queue waiting outside the Surgery. We offer a triage system whereby the clinicians triage the calls and will call the patient in for a face to face appointment if they deem it necessary.     I first saw the nurse who explained the procedure, how I would receive the results and what the various results would mean. They were reassuring, helpful and considerate. I next saw a Dr who was very friendly and helpful. I walked away with a scan and referral booked.
