  1. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Deon Paul Greeff - Posted on 16 April 2023

I have been under the Alum Practice care for well over ten years. During which time I underwent two full knee replacements, (Arthroplasties) and a cancerous prostrate removed. The pre and post operative care was meticulously followed up by the Doctors of the Alum Practice. All arrangements were done without any hesitation. For a number of years I had difficulty to get my Type 2 Diabetics under control. The Diabetic Dr. Took time and effort to help me understand Diabetics. I was put under new and changed medication. I now have full control of my Diabetics. Last but not least, I need to praise the NHS for their prompt response to the requests from Doctors of The Alum practice to further investigate my issues. Thank you to all.

It is always heartening to receive these reviews as we know that it is mainly aggrieved patients that take to writing reviews. 5. Review titled Good doctors

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 April 2023

This practice has the usual problem with GP practices in that demand Often outstrips supply. So it can be frustrating trying to get an appointment. However, in person or on the phone, I’ve always found the GPS helpful and friendly.

  6. Review titled Hard to leave routine appointments and gp doesn’t call.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 December 2022

for the past 8 months the gp’s on this practice are not giving referral, or help. Took me 2 weeks to set one routine phone call appointment. the gp on the day send one beep ring! Had no chance to open as was no more than 1 second and left recorded 20 seconds voicemail, and mentioned called twice so appointment is gone, complete waste of time and the gp does not deserve any rating. Is unbelievable service no one’s in this practice get their work seriously, bad Gp service and practice. thank you to evenings out of hours wf gp network contact has been great service. I have mentioned that I have bad service from my gp and they have tried to help me all the time for past 8 months, As for allum medical centre I have receive horrible service. This is second time I’m complaining for 8 months. not happy it must be done something about this practice. waltham forest should investigate and made them to do more better service to local peaple.

  7. Review titled Poor - Do not waste your time calling

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Simba - Posted on 02 December 2022

To call the customer service would be an insult to the word poor. It is non existent. I called the Practice and was told i was number 8 in the queue. after about 50 minutes i was told i was number 2 in the queue. After being told i was number it stopped telling me i what number in the queue i am and just told me my call will be answered shortly. It has now been 1 hour and 20 minutes and i am still on hold being told it will be answered shortly. I then thought while i am on hold let me try calling from another phone while remaining on hold on my phone. When i called, guess what "you are number 8 in the queue" This is an absolute joke.

  8. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 October 2022

If you are ill, you'll need to drag yourself down to the clinic and wait outside in the cold from about 7.30am until they open and you may get an appointment. Getting through on the phone takes at least 30 mins. They also can't give you a timed appointment - ever - making non-urgent but important appointments impossible for working people. If you need a non-urgent appointment, you have to know the secret that new appointments for the fortnight after next are only available on Tuesday afternoons after 2pm. Receptionists seem surprised that patients don't keep up with the ever changing rules/processes/procedures for appointments even though the website hasn't been updated for years and direct communication with their patient list is non-existent. Their on-hold message also blames patients for their 'high demand' for the long wait times and lack of appointments not their inability to hire enough doctors, nurses or receptionists to service their patient list.

  9. Review titled Unable to get through to book an appointment!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Susan Toole - Posted on 17 October 2022

This practice has sent me about 10 text messages to encourage me to take up various vaccinations. However, I have called on 4 separate days only to be told all appts are gone, call the next day at 8am! As this message is given to all callers, you can't get through at 8am as the line is engaged. Hopeless access- what has happened to our NHS??

  10. Review titled Another complaint about the appointments process

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 September 2022

I was a patient at the Allum practice from 1987 to 2000 and then from 2011 until now. I have been very few times in recent years and a lot of this is to do with the impossible appointments process. I have said this to the GPs. When you do get to see a GP they are extremely good but trying to get an appointment is off-putting. I left in tears today. I don't blame the reception staff but the system is ridiculous and serves no- one.
