After 3 messages reminding me to attend I arrived 5 minutes early and checked in I then waited 15 minutes sitting in a surgery with people coughing and sneezing only to be told by the nurse that she couldn’t give me my shingles jab as I was not 70 yet (dob 25/12/1953) and there had been a computer error. She couldn’t rebook for January as those date’s weren’t on the system yet. Apparently if she’d given me the jab she would not have been covered by insurance if it had gone wrong which is not reassuring!! I shall not bother rebooking as I don’t like having to hang around in doctors surgeries if I’m not ill

Thank you for your response. I am sorry about the confusion, but unfortunately our nurse has to work according to the rules. It is not about giving or receiving the vaccine it is all about dating issues on computer. January schedules are not on as yet due to changes to appointments slot types and timings to match. I hope we can accommodate then without any mishap. regards, practice manager

Quick and easy appointment for smear test with nurse. Very difficult to get an appointment with GP though, even for a telephone appointment.

Was invited to have shingles jab so booked appointment. Had several reminders. When i arrived the practice nurse told me I couldn’t have it because I wasn’t 65 yet (one month short). Why couldn’t they just cancel the appointment and apologise for mix up instead of wasting my time and using up an appointment that someone else could have had. Trying to to get an appointment is very hard Ringing at the exact time they open you sometimes are told they’ve all gone after waiting in a queue for 30 minutes or so.

Thank you for your feedback I apologise for this error. I will add this onto our next practice meeting to allow all staff to be aware of wastage of patient time. We are asking patients to please if making a routine pre bookable appointment or if calling for any other reason to perhaps call later in the morning as the 0800am rush clogs the sytem for all patients. I got a message asking me to get an appointment for a vaccination. Getting the appointment was normal I.e hanging on the phone but once I got through everything was fine. The vaccination was quick and easy.

Glad to be a patient at the Practice Surgery for many years. Everyone there at the surgery are caring, professional, knowledgeable and dedicated to their patients and work. I have been a patient since 1996 and it has always been a pleasure to be valued by everyone there.

28/11 9.15 am appointment I was 20 minutes late due to some urgent work and made my best effort not to miss the appointment. On arrival The receptionist tried her best not to be accommodating when I explained. There have been times where I had to wait over 25 minutes at the surgery for my turn with a GP. My appointment was cancelled and rescheduled for another day. Only 1 patient was waiting.The patient time and effort are not matter at your surgery

Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry your experience was not what you expected. I also appreciate that things happen and this was out of your control. Unfortunately, schedules are tight and patients will also be waiting for their scheduled call - I also appreciate that we run late lots of times, but again this will be out of everyone's hands if there is an urgent need to deal with. This practice is great very helpful and caring but one thing not working for us is it’s so hard to get appointments with doctors when’s it going back to the way it was before covid

Thank you for your positive feedback. I am pleased you are happy with the overall surgery. May I please point out that we have changed as per instruction post covid we are directed to encourage more telephone consultations mainly for purposes that do not require a face to face appointment, however our face to face numbers have increased as many doctors after calling a patient will still want to see them and this is organised during the telephone consultation. -calling at 8 am - no more on the day appointments. Calling after 8 am - no routine appointments either. So how are the patients supposed to consult a GP if the query is not an emergency? No chance to get an appointment. Called 111 once and they contacted surgery and I got my appointment with them on the same say, but what a mission to get an antibiotic !!! -reception staff is rude - One of the doctors “forgot” about my reply via text messaging ( with photos of a health issue I had) so I was waiting for a few months for nothing. Finally I contacted them asking where my referral was, they just “were too busy and forgot” - doctors are 30-45 min late ( as well as phone calls) - if a patient starts to talk about the second health issue, or asks a question- no way, they will open the door for you to leave the room and you would have to make another appointment (as I only have 10 minutes) If you do not want to have an extra stress , choose another GP surgery

Thank you for your comments. I can understand frustration, but I am unable to assist as you have chosen to be anonymous. We have have a range of appointments from on the day to pre booking, and various variations in between. I do hope you are aware of the many option available for patients to assist us when we have been filled to full capacity. Regards,
