Efficient booking of tests required but had to chase up follow up for the action regarding tests. The GP call was explanative. I’m now waiting on call from pharmacy regarding the prescribed medicine I’ve been taken. I do feel insecure taking this medicine with the lack of defined follow up.

Not visited a doctor for some time and I was pleasantly surprised how efficient the doctor and nurse were. My Doctor was very professional, listen intently, sympathetic and sincere. Extremely thankful for the wonderful service.

Generally a positive experience if you can get through to the clinical staff, but the administrative systems (not staff) are abrasive and a bit of a mess: - a confusing array of digital contact methods are promoted (mjog messenger, Airmid, eConsult) rather than focusing on a single system. (Airmid can do messages but this is disabled for some reason). - eConsult is a good system but difficult to find on the poorly maintained website and completing the online form can be a very lengthy process. - responses to eConsult come via SMS message with a dodgy looking link that you must click on to respond (instead of replying to the SMS). Again, why not use Airmid for this? - The phone queuing system plays ear-piercing classical music (garbled by the antiquated UK phone network) at high volume whilst the vocal volume is low. This causes physical discomfort for patients who are already experiencing pain. Sometimes feels like you get spat out of the process at the end and if you have any minor questions or points of clarification then you need to re-enter via the 20 minute phone queue or start a new eConsult as if you are a new patient; no way to nimbly reply to previous correspondence.

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry you are unhappy with the service. With regards to your points raised: - We are streamlining our services in order to make things easier for patients. unfortunately, we are not in charge of services that are commissioned for us to use and we agree, too many systems gets confusing. With regards to Airmid, whilst it is great you are utilising it, the use of the messaging system will take up more staff time and mean that more staff would need to come away from their work to monitor this, meaning longer queues on things like the telephones. - eConsult is accessed from the very front page of our new website which has now been up and running for several months. I am unsure why you feel this is poorly maintained, but content is added regularly. - Responses to the eConsult are sent via an SMS service that is only one way unless you use the link as these come via our computers not via a phone. Most patients find this a very useful way of replying and it has proven very popular. - We agree, the music isn't great, but we are unable to change it. However, we have a new phone system coming soon so we're hoping the music choices are somewhat better. Hopefully with the changes that we make, you will be happier with out service.

Review titled Efficient and polite.

I had my first visit to the Drayton Practice a couple of weeks ago having been relocated due to the closing of the North Harbour practice. I was amazed at how polite and efficient ALL the staff I interacted with were. From the reception staff to both the GP and nurse that I saw they where interested and informative when it came to my issue and never made me feel rushed or like I was a inconvenience like my previous practice had.

My appointment for my blood tests and results were made and carried out very efficiently and promptly. I phoned for advice from a doctor and one phoned and discussed the results the same day. An appointment to see my doctor arranged When I have to speak to a receptionist they have been most helpful and polite

For someone who is depressed and to be asked if I’d like to be recorded for training purposes face to face is a literal kick in the teeth for someone who struggles to talk openly about being depressed. Then not to forgot I had to wait 3 days to actually speak to a doctor. One day you might be just too late to speak to someone who is struggling.

Thank you for your comments, I am sorry you are unhappy with the service. I can see that our trainee GP, Dr Ayo was the GP who contacted you about your eConsult and also made you aware that he was recording his sessions as part of his final assessment before he graduates. This is common practice for trainee GPs and something that is always checked with patients prior to him seeing them. I can see that you were then contacted by Dr Swindells the same day who was able to help you without the need to record the session. The eConsult service allows us a window of 48 hours to make contact with you and this is communicated to you when you submit your questionnaire. If you feel you need to be consulted sooner than that, please always phone the surgery and ask to speak with someone.

I am new to the Drayton Surgery, having recently been discarded by the Homewell Practice. Apparently I now live outside of their area, although I have lived in my present house for for 40 years. My experience at your practice has to date been very good, everyone seems to know what they are doing which is reassuring, and the attention has been carina and considerate.
