Review titled Not very good
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Samantha Marsh - Posted on 19 September 2023
Being told I could not see a doctor when I was breathless by a rude receptionist, I'm not one to goto the docs all the time but when I really needed to see one nobody cared. Got told I could have a phone call appointment 4 days later, not very good at all

Dear Samantha I'm sorry to hear about your poor experience with a rude receptionist. This is absolutely not acceptable and not what I would expect for our patients. Occasionally there can be a short wait for an appointment, and we should always try our best to offer alternatives and options for patient who need immediate attention. We can often signpost patients who need immediate attention to NHS 111 (typically for out of hours care) or the local Walk-in centre for a sit and wait appointment. Kind regards DS

Unfortunately I do have Occassion to use the Grange Group Practice services on a regular basis. Every time I use them I am even more impressed. They appear to have a great system in place for dealing with people in a quick and efficient manner

We have been using the Grange for 25 years and since the old partners left we noticed a down turn in service longer telephone waiting times hard to get appointments etc .Over the last year we have seen an improvement across the board and we now feel confident in the practice

Dear Joanne Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and brilliant 4-star rating for our phlebotomy (blood test) clinic. We are proud to offer this service to our patients and we also open it up to patients from other practices so they can have blood tests quickly (usually within 2-3 days). Kind regards DS

Getting an appointment is not an easy task as I had to wait two weeks before I could get an appointment some receptionists are not very helpful and all information about the patient isn’t passed on quick enough

Dear Joanne I'm sorry to hear that you've found it difficult accessing an appointment. I hope you will try the online consultation system "Patchs" via our website and let us know how you find that. It's a shame to hear your experience that information isn't passed on quick enough through the Practice team. We will reflect on your comments and learn from this. Kind regards DS

Review titled Requires leadership
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I have been prescribed a course of tablets that should have lasted two months for an effective outcome. I was only given one month’s supply and have tried to request the second month in order that I will not lose the benefit gained. Fourteen tablets were then prescribed (nearly four weeks ago). However, the Practice stated that I needed a ‘prescription review’ and a blood test before getting the remaining tablets. A telephone consultation with a member of the Pharmacy Team was arranged. I requested an afternoon call as I had a funeral in the morning. I was informed that the Pharmacist could not work to a given timescale, as they were working at home, but the message would be passed. I returned early from the funeral and waited all day from that time but never received a call. The first available appointment for a blood test was for after the prescription review which appeared to be completely the wrong way round. It has now been eleven days without the tablets. I worry that all the benefit from the original course of tablets will now be lost.

Dear patient Thank you for this insightful review and I'm sorry you only rate us 3 out of 5 stars. I'm sorry to hear about issues with receiving your medication and that the review process was not simple. Please be assured there is no need to go without medication, and that emergency medication can be supplied via NHS 111 out of hours. I will share this feedback with our pharmacists so that they can review their processes to ensure this doesn't happen again. Kind regards DS

Review titled Repeat Perscription
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by George Mulhall - Posted on 03 October 2023
Unable to reorder through nhs app, I phoned Grange Practice, I was told I could override it on the app, I could not find this, rang my chemist, he said he has had lots of people complaining with the same problem, phone surgery again, told I needed a review and I would get a phone call, nobody rang me, I tried to reorder again and it worked, I would have appreciated a txt to let me know and if I have to have a review I will call at the surgery for a blood test if required. All a bit over complicated. Keep it simple!

Review titled Doctors Beyond Capacity
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Peter johnson - Posted on 26 September 2023
Visited practice 20 September - diagnosis given, medication prescribed with the proviso, if no better, contact Practice or 111 if out of hours. Feeling no better, telephoned Practice and explained situation. Advised to contact 111 (time 2.15pm) as the Doctors were beyond capacity. Contacted 111 who referred me to Huddersfield infirmary. Very, very busy at A&E - eventually rediagnosed and medication collected today. pharmacy on site closed.

Dear Peter I'm sorry to hear about your recent experience of the Practice. Unfortunately, it can sometimes be difficult to anticipate unexpected demand on our service and, like any appointment system, our appointment lists can become full. I'm glad you were able to use the NHS 111 out of hours service and they were able to support. They play an essential part in supporting patients who cannot wait until the GP reopens. Kind regards DS
