Dear patient Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm pleased you were pleasantly surprised with how quickly your call was answered. We set ourself the stretching target of answering 95% of calls first time, with an average wait time of less than 3 minutes. I'm proud to advise we have been acheiving that - no mean feat for a service which answeres over 10,000 calls per year. It's reassuring to know how quickly you were able to be seen for an appointment. Patient access is really important to us, so it's nice to know we're doing a good job. I wonder what else you might have wished for to make this a 5 star experience. Kind regards DS

Receptionist was really polite, attentive & helpful during my phone call. GP called me back within 30 mins, as Receptionist said they would. I have used this GP surgery regularly over the last 3 years. Having lived in different parts of Yorkshire over the last 20 years, this is one of best, most efficient, well run, inclusive GP practices I've used.

  4. Review titled Prompt service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Phoned surgery at 08.30 on Monday. Within 15 mins an appt for 11.15 that day had been arranged. Reviewed by nurse Practitioner who thought the diagnosis was a DVT. Apologised that couldn't be managed at the surgery and advised to go to A and E. Also advised to tell A and E reception that I had been referred by G.P. practice ( may fast track assessment ). At A and E was informed that triage waiting was 2.5 hrs and treatment time a further 2.5 hrs. However, after half an hour I was triaged and sent to the Medical Assessment Unit, bloods taken and seen by the Doctor. I was back home within 4 hrs. I am convinced that without the advce of the Nurse Practitioner my in hospital would have been much longer. As I,m looking after my wife at present, this was extremely important to me. Thank you.

  6. Review titled Obstructive Call Handlers & Poor Healthcare Assistants

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 May 2023

The call handlers are very obstructive and hostile. This certainly needs improving. Whilst we understand the practise has a new contract to now take bloods at the practise the Healthcares that take the bloods must have appropriate training. The healthcare & callhandlers have very lityle compassion & empathy. The time they spend with patient is very rushed and hands were not washed or gloves donned. It was a poor experience. This is not what is expected. Whilst we understand that the practice benefit per blood test per day; this should be done with care rather than reckless. I feel more comfortable getting bloods done from a phlebotomist and the hospital. A review off all healthcares conducting phlebotomy is advised to improve on scores. In addition the call handlers who we note have a long standing problem that should be improved to satisfy patient care. This training would certainly help.

Dear patient I am really disappointed to receive your review that call handlers are obstructive and hostile. I run a monthly survey which reports on telephone access and the results are overall positive. A great deal of work has been undertaken on the telephones to reduce waiting times and improve customer service. We are currently answering 95% of calls first time which is testament to our efforts. You are quite right that we are offering an in-house blood test service. This is to support existing blood test services, improve access and reduce waiting times for patients. I totally agree the quality of our service must be of a high standard, and I have fed your comments back to our Head of Nursing. I trust she will review the process and carry out the necessary observations of our phlebotomists and health care assistants. Please feel free to call us and provide more information so we can address your concerns and discuss with the appropriate individual(s) one-to-one. Kind regards DS

Dear Diane Thank you for your 4-star review and feedback on the new Patchs online consultation tool available to our patients. This has been introduced as another access route and is ideal for those with less urgent queries or concerns. We're aiming for a member of our clinical team to review these requests within 24 hours so it's nice to see that happened on this occasion. Kind regards DS

  8. Review titled Most improved practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Markham s - Posted on 10 March 2023

I was considering leaving the practice for some time however over the last few months there has been a massive improvement to patients request for appointments. Before you had to fight the receptionist for appointments now they are a pleasure. You get the impression they are genuinely trying to help instead of being a nuisance.

  9. Review titled Good practice

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Jean Calvert - Posted on 07 March 2023

My consultation was fine no problems at all. My biggest frustration is requesting a prescription. My last consultation was about my blood pressure and there were no appointments to chat with the in house Pharmacist until Monday which was the day i took my last tablet in the sleeve. I didn't order anymore before my consultation thinking I might need a change in the prescription. The Pharmacist did ring yesterday but I was outside in the garden at the time and a voicemail wasn't left so I didn't know who had called because it was no caller I'd. I rang the reception in the afternoon to say I hadn't spoken to the pharmacist and she said she would ask him to ring me. I eventually had a text this morning saying my prescription had been sent to the chemist. I had a sleepless night worrying about no tablets being left for the morning. I also need cocodamol on a regular basis as I am waiting for 2 knee replacements and these are not on my repeat prescription so I have to trail to the surgery every fortnight or so to fill in a form for another prescription for them. Sorry it's a bit longwinded but you asked so I have given my opinion. I don't know whether there is a simpler way but thanks for asking. Jean Calvert

Dear Jean Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Sorry to hear about some of issues you’ve experienced with accessing medication. We work really hard to ensure all medication requests are processed and prescriptions are sent to pharmacies within 48 working hours. If there are ever delays with this, please do not worry. Patients can contact NHS 111 out of normal hours to request an emergency prescription. We would not encourage anyone to go without medication so please be assured this option of contacting NHS 111 is available to all patients, especially when we’re closed. Your feedback will be shared with our whole team at our next practice meeting. Kind regards DS
