    The practise should perhaps learn from other practises in area on how the non medical staff should conduct their service. It was clearly communicated by hospital doctors that my childs antibiotics were to be changed to stop the current infection immediately. However, after 3 phone calls and discussing this with 3 separate receptionists/appointment ladies they did not understand the urgency and offered a phone consultation with a nurse a week after. This was not acceptable and in the end after another a&e visit the hospital doctors changed the antibiotics. The staff need to listen and care about patients. They do not have specific medical qualifications to tell parents that a week with the wrong antibiotics is fine. This does pose a risk. It is also historic behaviour as we have experienced this many times before. The practice manager does have to stop supporting this behaviour and listen to the patients viewpoints. I would recommend looking at other practices for advise.

    Brilliant service all staff are friendly,helpful informative & polite and do their upmost to help you,there has clearly been a shake up of things, in terms of better communication with patients,not that I personally ever had an issue with that but I can tell there’s a more positive communication from staff.I would recommend this surgery it’s the best one I’ve ever been part of,you feel like you are actually been listened to an everything is dealt with in a timely manner

    My call was answered by helpful and polite receptionist who made me an appointment to see the relevant clinician & arranged for a pharmacist to call me the same day. Very good service following my initial call

    I’ve had to visit the practice on numerous occasions in the past nine months for different health reasons but what stands out to me on every visit is how fantastically well the reception is managed! The team are always polite, very helpful and remain calm whilst dealing with the constant heavy flow of demanding patients with a wide range of issues! They are super efficient and do a fantastic job!

    A request for two items on a prescription was not completed together. The effect was that when notified by the pharmacy only part was available so wasting a round trip of some 5 miles which had to be repeated. At a recent visit to see the doctor for blood test results I arrived early for a 09:00 first appointment but was kept waiting for 40 minutes even after reminding the receptionist twice. I think I had been forgotten about.

This is not what we would expect, and I would encourage you to call and speak to a senior member of our team so we can take more details and investigate the incident so you can receive an explanation. We would not want patients to have to wait 40 minutes for an appointment, but sometimes clinicians can encounter urgent or even emergency complex problems. This can cause a delay and our receptionists should keep waiting patients informed. Please be assured we would not forget about waiting patients - in fact our system informs us when patients have arrived and been checked in. We are aiming to reduce routine waiting times to less than a week, but please be mindful this might be affected with holidays and sickness.     Overall I do feel the practise has improved over the last few weeks/months. I really don't like the eConsult service as when you get to the end more than likely it asks you to ring the surgery. Wait times on the phone have dropped significantly, the doctors are very good and the online services are great too. I do think more should be made available online in terms of seeing notes and your record, as this would save me calling in when I haven't quite understood what the Doctor said or if I needed to know some additional info.

    Spoke with a receptionist on Friday afternoon that was rude ignorant wanted to talk but not listen tried telling me I didn’t understand what doctor had said to me and I was mistaken told her no but didn’t double check herself with doctor but tried telling me she had total lie then put me on hold to bring another receptionist to fight her corner that she was right and I was still wrong after hearing one side and left me feeling bullied and intimidated if she couldn’t handle me putting my side across and telling her she was wrong to check with doctor himself she should of just said I can’t sort your issue can u ring back at a later date and speak with someone else not say hold line a minute then go speak to another receptionist put her side to her then put her on phone to me and think I’m going repeat myself all over again to be told a second time I was wrong but I obviously was not as got a call on Monday morning from another receptionist that was saying and doing the task the doctor had set and not telling me I was confused and sorted my issue with no problem and with manners and in no time at all for following a simple task and having respect for patient and not just expecting respect telephone message says about staff being abused but it’s ok for staff to verbally abuse patients and try bully tack ticks ganging up with others
