    I had to contact the surgery with a problem with my nose and within 2 hours l had a prescription for antibiotics pavan sent me a prescription straightaway l have dealt with her before she is very professional and a lovely lady easy to talk to and very helpful

    I recently attended birkby grange practice to enquire about a psa blood test. Upon arriving at the reception desk I was interrupted by a lady putting posters up and she directed the reception staff to refer me primarily to a telephone consultation prior to arranging the blood test given that ‘there were cost implications of having such a test’. This annoyed me greatly as at 52 I was entitled to such a blood test as advertised repeatedly by the nhs from the age of 50. In terms of the ‘cost implications’ by having such a blood test to test for prostrate cancer it may actually save the nhs money further down the line not to mention potentially save my life. This was an extremely ill-advised comment by one of your staff and should be a flag for further training. The telephone consultation was duly completed and I attended a blood test over the Christmas period as directed by the answers to the questions posed. Perhaps the lady in question should have posed similar questions rather than refer me directly to a telephone consultation for a reason of cost implications. Such a PSA blood test for a condition which is one of the uk’s biggest killers in men should be a pre requisite for men of my age and as I confirmed with the consultant I was overdue such a test given my age. Thankfully all was ok with the blood test but this experience has left a bitter taste with the birkby grange.

    I would like to say a huge thanks to the 4 members of the nursing team which helped me for a few months. The dedication and persistence of these nurses was amazing and I thank them greatly.

    I have used patchs every time I have need to speak to someone or book an appointment. I have always had a quick response and my concerns have always been met and wherever possible at least a telephone appointment has been given to me. I have never struggled to get an appointment for myself or my family and both admin and clinical team provide an excellent service. Thank you for all your hard work and looking after us. I have been a patient here for over 13 years and would never go anywhere else.

    When i booked that appointment i asked the receptionist about a phone call assessment with a doctor as all i needed was antibiotics for a uti i was told i would have to see a doctor in case they needed a urine sample,when i saw the doctor she said we could have done this over the phone . However on the day i was very impressed booked in took minutes had a wait of about 10mins saw the doctor she all ready had my symptoms from when i booked the appointment gave me some antibiotics then on my way . Really good experience and i would recommend this surgery on this visit

    The patchs system is very effective. I had an immediate response ( in the middle of the busy holiday period). My query was dealt with very quickly and the response was communicated through my chosen method. This is an excellent tool for patients to use with a common sense approach. It reduces the need for endless back and forth phone calls with the surgery and frees up doctors appointments for those that need them . I have seen a huge improvement in the services provided by this practice.

    The Grange Medical Practice have improved immensely. No long waiting lines when phoning the surgery, able to get appointments reasonably quickly. From the receptionists and call operators to the nurses and doctors - they're all extremely helpful. I'm pleased the practice has improved so much making it approachable and not off putting should a medical problem arise. Well done to all the team and staff involved in achieving this - Thank You!

    Got asked to go for blood test and was told over phone needed stool test aswell ,went on a Thursday had bloods picked up Sample bottle, handed back in Friday ,phoned back wk later for results reception had no idea about it said there was no form for it All the while my symptoms have been going on for 14 months ,its ridiculose how they can loose samples ,definitely move GP if there was a decent 1 in area .

This is wholly unacceptable, and I would like to investigate the matter further. It could be that the hospital lab had rejected the sample, rather than it being lost.
