I had a wonderful nurse today do my smear. She made a necessary evil not evil at all. Put me at ease instantly, not painful and very respectful.

I came in for my routine screening. The Nurse who carried out my procedure was very friendly and reassuring. She explained everything to me. She even spotted another issue and suggested help for this.

In for a routine smear test. The nurse could not have been more lovely. She explained the process and what would happen afterwards very clearly and made me feel very safe. She was very personable and chatted away to me using humour which put me at ease.

In the last 2 weeks I have visited the West Lodge practice twice; once for a routine blood test and once for a routine cervical screening. I have to comment the nurses that handled these appointments. Both were friendly, welcoming, kind and compassionate. They put me at ease, and it felt like they really cared and had time for me. I would particularly like to say that the nurse who saw me today is a wonderful human being. She carried out what is not an entirely pleasant procedure in such a calm and reassuring manner, chatting about my day and being thoroughly professional and respectful throughout. It could not have been better. Thank you. Thank you all the nursing team- you’re an incredible asset to the practice.

The phone service for booking appointments needs review. It takes far too long to get through and if you don't get through your told to call back later with no inclination of what 'later' means. We have an 11 month old to which we had to call 111 to get an appointment rather than booking through the surgery. Luckily never had to utilise the NHS to any great extent but now I'm having to utilise for my daughter I think it's ridiculous. GP practices need to be reviewed urgently to address the poor performance

The nurse at the practise was friendly and supporting when I attended my smear test appointment. She put me at ease and was very patient with me which made the process a lot easier.
