Following a minor operation I had to have my stitches out I made an advance appointment which was on time I was seen by the nurse who was very careful and caring and gave me good after care advice

  2. Review titled Difficult to get doctors appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Rather than hang in a phone queue I went to the surgery to book an appointment with a doctor as advised by NHS111. They told me to ask for an urgent GP appointment. I was given an appointment for that afternoon. Turned out to be an appointment with a healthcare assistant who did the NHS healthcare check. She couldn't/wouldn't refer me for a doctor's or advanced nurse practitioner appointment. Having my height & weight confirmed was of no comfort considering how dreadful I was feeling (& had been for over a week). On a positive note at least I had my BP taken & was referred for a blood test which I thought would be useful in trying to find out what was wrong with me. Unfortunately the earliest appointment I could book for a blood test anywhere in the city was a week away. I found it all very frustrating when all I want to do is stay fit & healthy and not need any NHS services. I managed to get my blood test earlier due to a "no-show". The phlebotomist told me a surgery nurse could have done a blood test. Later that day the receptionist phoned to offer me an appointment a week and a half away. I asked how anyone can get a "same day" appointment as advertised by the surgery. You need to ring at 8am & if there are any left when/if you get through you may get one. After phoning the surgery the next day (not at 8am as couldn't get through) I got an earlier GP appointment 4 days after I'd originally asked for "an urgent GP appointment" I find it difficult to understand why there is such a rigmarole to get an appointment

  3. Review titled Not the best

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Some Dr's and nurses are great depends 9n who you get. I had an appointment with the practice nurse yesterday who completely refused to treat me. She put her hands up and said I can't help you get another appointment to see the Dr. If she can't help why was I booked in with her?? Not just that she wouldn't let me speak, not one sentence was fully spoken by me without her interrupting saying she can't do anything. In the end I gave up and walked out. She had no manners on how to speak to people. She is there to listen and try and help but how will you help if you don't listen?? Overall sadly I do not recommend this practice to anyone. I was in the room less than 3 minutes and I could tell she wanted me out straight away. She verbally pushed me out within 3 minutes. Her tone of voice was not of the helping nature at all. Here I am still in a lot of pain. No advice on what pain killers I should have or not have, what I can possibly buy that'll help me... Nope, nothing at all. No help at all, total waste of time. I recently had bloods done and her words were don't ask me about bloods don't ask me about results because I won't tell you and I can't book you an appointment because I don't book appointments. Well, I never asked for any test results or ask for you to book anything, in fact I couldn't even finish 1 full sentence about the pain I was in. Very bad experience and next time I will never agree to see any nurse practioner at this practise.

  4. Review titled Unorganised chaos.

Attended Longton surgery for flu &covid jabs, must say it was not at all organised. Told to take a seat, then other patients coming in and being vaccinated straight away. Better way to see patients was needed.

I am a very healthy eater in general but I just feel like it didn't count, I am a bit confused about what I need to eat, i eat low fat yogurt, semi milk, no fat on meat, lean bacon fat removed, chicken eggs, lots of veg and I eat fish .where am I going so wrong except for some chocolate and lighter cheese, I also walk

  10. Review titled Getting better

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I am impressed that I rang about 10-10.30am, thinking I would try to get an OOH appt but was offered an appt at Meir that afternoon! The downside was I took time off work to attend and my appt time was 3.10pm and it was at least 3.45pm before I went in. However, the Dr was fantastic and thorough and really listened
