  2. Review titled Can't make an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Maria Lang - Posted on 04 September 2024

I have tried to make an on line appointment numerous times. When describing my symptoms and the degree of pain the system refers me to 111. I did manage to see a physio in May. This was next to useless. Still waiting for an instruction email. All I want to do is speak to a doctor regarding this, at times, excruciating back pain Is it to much to ask to speak to a human at this practice??? The receptionists have always been very helpful.

Dear Maria, Firstly, apologies for the delay in responding to your review. I'm sorry if you had problems requesting an online appointment. I believe the request that you put in on 6th September, resulted in a consultation with a GP and that this has been followed up with further appointments. I hope that your back pain is starting to get better. If you do have any issues submitting requests for an appointment online in the future, please do call our Reception team on 020 8763 5620 and they will be pleased to help you. Kind regards, Deborah Roberts Business Manager

  3. Review titled Appointment Issues

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mrs Fisher - Posted on 11 April 2024

I did not believe the hype about not being able to get a Dr's appt, until I tried myself. I had a chest infection and the system just said no appointments - the phone had 38 people in front of me! so gave up. Then recently needed drs advice on my diabetes - which I add I was put on tablets and not had any contact for a year since then - I have heard of better experiences from other diabetes patients. So I had an appt booked the next day - but nobody called - worse still there was no contact to say why, so I tried again the next day - completing pages of of the same questions again to get to ask for an invitation, which I was then sent an invite which was removed and reappeared inviting me to an appt 7 days later. Very frustrating and confusing. The older generation will not be able to cope with this new system. The surgery shuts very early daily which makes it impossible for people working.

Dear Mrs Fisher Thank you for your feedback however, I am sorry to hear about the issues you recently experienced in obtaining a GP Appointment. Please could you contact the surgery at swlicb.complaints@nhs.net with your full name and date of birth so we can investigate further; as we have several patients with the same surname. We can then look into this matter for you. Kind regards Kim Burbedge Complaints Administrator

  4. Review titled Thoroughly impressed

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sarah - Posted on 18 April 2024

I had an appointment with DrBellman on Monday for my son who had an ear infection and a severe nappy rash. I was pleasantly surprised from the off when I got called in immediately (always appreciated when waiting with a young child!) My appreciation only heightened during the appointment itself as DrBellman was thorough in her assessment and communication of the treatment options- giving me confidence and making me feel as though I had some autonomy in the decision for his treatment. This is the second time I’ve had an appointment with her for my son and both times she has shown to be very natural and personable with her patients and particularly with children. Most importantly i started to see almost immediately improvement in the nappy rash due to her advice and prescription and I am starting to see improvement in the condition of the ear infection too- much to my relief. I want to thank DrBellman for her expertise, time and dedication to her job!

  6. Review titled Don't care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 February 2024

After visiting the nurse for dressing to be checked after surgery there were issues that needed to be checked by a doctor. The nurse who attended was told by the GP that they were too busy and for me to book an appointment (2 weeks lead time only telephone availability in 5 days) They explained it was not their problem go back to where the surgery was done (70 miles away and not possible in my condition) The Coulsdon surgery seems to have become a call centre, impossible to see a gp

  7. Review titled Purley practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Graham Pryke - Posted on 01 February 2023

I saw the receptionist today at Purley, 1st February. You say I am not allowed to name her, but please identify her as she was absolutely brilliant. I have a bad anxiety problem, and she managed to get me a face to face appt with a doctor who I had dealings with before. She too was so sympathetic and put me at ease. Both are a credit to your practice. I only wish I could name them both.

  8. Review titled terrible patiant care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mehr - Posted on 22 February 2023

The reception staff have no empathy and are robatic in their response. They ask questions that the patiant can't answer in front of others present. the surgery can only offer telephone conversation with a doctor, Saturday doctor or direct you to hospital emergency. Their Saturday reception is contracted out to others and they are even worse.

Dear Mehr, We were sorry to read your recent review. Our Reception staff have been trained by our GPs to ask a series of questions. This is to enable them to book or signpost the patient to the most appropriate clinician. We are sorry if you found this robotic or unempathetic and will feed this back to the team. Our Receptionists book patients for face-to-face appointments with a range of clinicians, including Advance Nurse Practitioners, Physios, Pharmacists, Nurses, HCAs and GPs, as well as with the Saturday Hub. We are sorry to hear that you have not been happy with the Saturday reception. If you could please email us at swlccg.wmwebsite@nhs.net with some further information, then we can look into this matter fully for you. Kind regards, Deborah Roberts, Business Manager

  9. Review titled Great Nursing Team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 January 2023

Unfortunately I have had a couple of medical emergencies over the past couple of years resulting in long term aftercare being required/provided for my leg by the Nursing Team at Woodcote Medical. The Nursing Team are both professional and knowledgeable, whilst adopting a caring/supportive approach which I, as a patient, feel to be an extremely important factor in my ongoing recovery. Nothing is too much trouble for the Nursing Team from initiating hospital appointments (through a Surgery GP), arranging appointments (when required) with one of the specialist Tissue Viability team, requesting a Surgery GP to check when a leg infection is suspected, arranging prescriptions for any required dressings and booking twice weekly dressing appointments in advance to accommodate my work schedule. I feel the current Nursing Team go above and beyond what is required of them in terms of the patient care provided to me and are a credit to the Woodcote Medical practice. I would also like to thank the excellent Reception staff who work at Woodcote Medical for their continued support.
