  1. Review titled Excellent and first class and caring service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

On the 12 th June 2023 around 8 am my mother was admitted to hospital. I am her full time caregiver and I called the ambulance. The whole experience was made easier with such lovely and caring staff. The ambulance staff Dom, Andrew, Sadie. They made my mother and I feel so blessed to have such a reassuring and supportive journey to the hospital. Don even checked up on my mother while we were waiting in the accident and emergency area. My mother said he looked like a film star and he put a smile on her face , which was so heartwarming. Such a kind young man. She stayed for four days in the Charing Cross hospital. From the emergency staff, doctors and nurses I can only praise their profession care and expertise. I felt my mother was in safe and caring hands all the way through her stay. My mother is recovering and it’s thanks to her exceptional care from all the kind staff at Charing Cross. My mother and myself are truly grateful for your kindness and care. Wishing you the best and a Big Thank You for all your excellent and hard work.

  3. Review titled Being held by a final tether

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I am a healthcare professional, and I understand the feeling of being under pressure, it’s horrible! But it shouldn’t cloud our judgement to deliver care and we should try to see past it when giving care. My friends husband was having a fit for the first time ever in his sleep, as a normal reaction she called 999 first. They refused to send out an ambulance. She called me, while she was on the phone, I called the ambulance. The lady I had on the other end of the line was very abrupt. Wasn’t letting me explain anything and simply wanted a yes or no answer. For example she asked ‘is the patient conscious’ I said ‘ semi-conscious’. She said ‘conscious or not conscious’ so I went with ‘not conscious’ although he was semi conscious. He was opening his eyes but not responding to any verbal cue’s. She then kept being abrupt until I mentioned I was a pharmacist and then her manner changed. Firstly, I am disappointed that in the first instance when my friend called for the ambulance, a first time seizure was not taken to be serious enough to warrant an ambulance, yet I know from my training that it is. Then I was disappointed that the call operator I got wouldn’t listen to my explanation and was being abrupt. I get it, it is a Friday night, and I was probably your 1000th phone call of the night. Not everyone would have a clinical background to be able to articulate a 999 call in a ‘yes or no’ format. We need to allow for all kinds of ways of communicating, where possible, to be able to deliver the best care that we can. And again, I know what it feels like to be holding myself together by the last thread, however this is why, we need to ensure, especially when dealing with other people and people’s lives, that we are ok to be able to help them. Irrespective of her behaviour on the call, I do appreciate that she managed to get an ambulance to my friend and her husband to get him the help he needed. But I truly hope she can read this review and try better to understand the needs of the person on the other end of a 999 call. And for the operator that didn’t deem it necessary for a first time seizure to not warrant an ambulance, I hope there is some re-training in place to allow for this, especially when the person who is calling might not know how important it is for that patient to get help as soon as possible!

I would like to provide feedback regarding two recent call outs when my father was unwell. I cannot thank both the ambulance service and the paramedics enough. The staff were really polite and explained everything well. During the second incident we had the service out within minutes and at the hospital very quickly. Thank you for all your support. A big thanks to these staff who do a remarkable job helping people like us when we need them the most.

The paramedics attended promptly. They were kind and considerate but also very professional and spoke to my husband and I in a clear, calm but friendly way. First class and a credit to the service.

  8. Review titled Excellent care from paramedic team Alpha 102 - Feltham

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Joseph Tranter - Posted on 15 May 2023

During a traumatic time following an accident I was transferred 'blue light' from Ealing Hospital to St Mary's in London. Alpha 102 based in Feltham were the paramedics who made the transfer. I would like to thank them for their kind and professional help they gave to me - before, during and after the journey. Their service and kindness was impeccable. I would like to thank them for everything they did to make sure that my spinal injury was protected at all times.

  9. Review titled True Professionals

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Called 999 when found housemate unconscious. Police and ambulance arrived within minutes. Early responder from ambulance was a true professional, took immediate control, spoke calmly and effectively and issued clear and calm instructions to all present. Soon there were 8 ambulance and approx 20 police (the person was young). They cleaned up before the family arrived (patient had 'flatlined' prior to my discovery. Care was taken by both ambulance people and police to ensure all family needs were met, as well as trauma responses from myself and others, in addition to fulfilling their very demanding roles. I could not have expected more. I was particularly impressed by how methodical yet calm, and caring they all were. I was also relieved and reassured that they made the environment as palatable for the family under such distressing circumstances, and checked that everyone was fine (under the circumstances) before departing.

  10. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

2 paramedics ( Cheyenne & Emily) come to our service to assist with a client, not only were they empathetic with the client they also took time to make numerous phone calls to get the help required which took them around 2 hours this resulted in them taking the client to the local hospital. They were amazing throughout.
