Review titled Great Paramedics
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ralph Jaggar - Posted on 08 December 2023
I had collapsed in great pain when my wife rang for an ambulance, which arrived within 30 minutes as she was told it would by the operator. The two young ladies were very kind, considerate and caring and carried out their checks and test with great efficiency. They helped me to the ambulance as I was able to walk and took me to Pinderfields hospital where I received equally great service inspite of them being extremely busy with lots of other patients. The paramedics stayed with me until I was handed over to the hospital's care. Extremely thankful to everyone!!

Review titled Poor crew
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Mr s ashley - Posted on 26 November 2023
My wife can't walk or breathe properly, she needed a urgent ambulance. The crew arrived and assessed her situation. They decided as the stairs were to steep they couldn't assist her, which was pitiful to watch. They made her come down a step at a time on her backside. I her husband helped her down the last few steps. If I'd have known the crew was going take this course of action my daughter and I would have got her down in a more comfortable and compassionate way. Over the past year my wife and I have needed the help off the ambulance service three times each time recieving a kind and compassionate service. But the crew and service in this review leaves a lot to be desired. It was more like a glorified taxi service this time. PS as a footnote the ambulance crew took my wife to the wrong hospital. Well there you go.

by Rose Reaney - Posted on 28 October 2023
I have just accompanied my mum to A&E via ambulance after she had a fall . We received an excellent service from the first called made .. the call handler was polite and informative . I was rung back 5 minutes later for paramedic assessment . The ambulance arrived 20 mins later the two paramedics were amazing so kind and reassuring extremely professional and respectful I can not thank them enough I see the policy prevents me from naming them but the ambulance number was 1616 and my mum was taken to hospital on 28.10.23 at 9 am

Review titled Fantastic care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ruby Grey - Posted on 29 October 2023
Yesterday morning I had been experiencing excruciating pain and difficulty breathing for a few hours which was getting worse. My husband called an ambulance that arrived within 20 minutes. The paramedics were kind, calm and professional. I was anxious and upset, they put my mind at ease, completed tests and took me to hospital. The care I received was second to none. I would like to get my personal thanks to the paramedics involved.

Review titled Tremendous professional care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jenny Duckworth - Posted on 05 December 2023
First, my sincere apologies that these thanks are so overdue. There have been some ‘ups and downs’ along the way since my husband first called 999 on 20 September, but it has always been our intention to get in touch to thank the two amazing ambulance drivers who attended us so promptly and professionally that morning, reassuring my husband and supporting me all the way into A and E and admission at Darlington Memorial. I was in acute abdominal pain and have very little memory of events other than their kindness, and confidence in the skilled treatment I was receiving in that critical early stage before we even left Richmond. I was in hospital for 5 weeks and have now been home for 5 weeks recovering steadily. We will always be hugely grateful for the great kindness we received in that frightening couple of hours.

Review titled Disappointed
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 October 2023
I called for a ambulance for my 89 year old mum who had suffered a stroke, the ambulance came very quickly. When the ambulance came I told the paramedic that my mum had had a stroke. They asked why I was thinking this, I told them because my mum had told me she thought she had had a stroke and I could tell by her arm, also that my mums surgery had been out to see her and confirmed this, the ambulance person then asked who had come out from the surgery!! I replied it wasn't a doctor but I didn't remember because I was more concerned and upset about my mum, but to my astonishment!! They replied, well you must know was it the receptionist.....I found this comment very upsetting if not very rude in the circumstances, my mum has cancer and is diabetic and very frail, she is so precious to me and I was so shocked the lack of care. I've had to have ambulances many times and the normal care has been outstanding, I still feel very upset about this flippant comment......please could these paramedics think this could me your mum!!

Review titled Great care
by empathyrz45 - Posted on 08 September 2023
I used 111 online after feeling wheezy and unable to take deep breaths. A nurse rang me back and made me an appointment at the out of hours GP at the hospital. After concerns of it potentially being a blood clot I was transferred to SDEC where further tests and treatment were provided. Everyone throughout the whole process was very friendly and kept me informed (Gp, SDEC, X-ray, CT scan etc). They worked hard to fit me in with the CT scan that evening to save me coming back the following day despite this being the handover time which I really appreciate. I would like to pass on my thanks to everyone involved in my care.

Review titled Exactly what you would hope for.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Carolyn Rushforth - Posted on 10 September 2023
Arrived promptly. Dealt kindly with my being in extreme pain and unintentionally unhelpful! Prompt and efficient pain relief. Only a hazy memory, but aware of their kindness, efficiency, good humour and reassuring manner. Huge thanks for their help at what was an unfamiliarly scary experience for me.

Review titled Exemplary Northallerton Ambulance Crew
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Susie Wade - Posted on 31 July 2023
The 2 crew were exemplary in their handling of my neighbour following her fall in the bathroom. It was a confined space and the injuries were not totally clear. They managed to extract my neighbour with some difficulty, but remained calm, professional and good humoured throughout. A shame they had to be kept waiting with us at York Hospital due to a queue of admissions, when they could have gone back to base. A very tiring day for them too. My sincere thanks and God bless you all.
