Review titled Grateful to have had my condition overseen so expertly
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mary Foord-Brown - Posted on 22 November 2023
I had a difficult time at another hospital, The Neuro Science Department, under the main professor gave me my confidence back, they did supervise my condition from afar until I went to Addenbrooks in person, were really thorough with me and most encouraging about my own efforts to get well quickly I am more than grateful for the excellent care, thank you.

Review titled Excellent care in A&E
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Caroline - Posted on 04 November 2023
I was referred to A&E by my GP on 3/11/2023. I just wanted to say thankyou to all the staff who looked after me. Despite being extremely busy everyone I saw was very kind and attentive and I felt safe and cared for. Everything was explained very clearly and my condition was reviewed throughout my stay. My thanks to everyone - I couldn't have asked for a better service.

Review titled Ward g3 exceptional care
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Sam S - Posted on 23 November 2023
I was recent admitted to Addenbrookes. I was under the care of consuktant cyt within Ward g3 acute internal medicine (with a lumbar spine issue) 17th Nov 2023. The nursing staff on the ward who looked after me were fantastic. I was made to feel comfortable and attended to despite the obvious financial / resource constraints related to the wider system. A huge thanks to all of the team for exceptional care. I am also writing to express how absolutely delighted I was with the doctors. I could not have asked for a more understanding, professional and articulate consultant. He went above and beyond to ensure I understood the issues I was struggling with and struck the perfect balance between medical solutions, personal circumstances and admission / discharge options. Please can you explicitly pass on thanks to the ward I could not have asked for better care and doubt I would have recieved such quality anywhere else. Many thanks!! Sam Sparks

Review titled Issues with reception staff.
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 October 2023
I arrived for my appointment well in advance. I followed the instructions and spoke to a reception staff person, there were two working at the time of my arrival. The staff I spoke to checked my details and told me to take a seat. I waited until 20 minutes past my appointment time, before asking when I might expect to be seen. During my wait everyone that came in after me had been called for their appointments. I spoke to the other reception member of staff, as the one I had spoken to originally was on the phone. The staff checked the screen, looked embarrassed and said they would let the clinical staff know I was there. It was obvious that the reception staff person I had spoken to almost 1 hour earlier had not informed the clinical staff that I was waiting for my appointment, once that had been done, I was seen immediately. Clinical staff were very pleasant and apologetic for the reception staff not passing the necessary information to them, they told me they had not been told I was there. The reception staff made no attempt to apologise for their oversight, the clinic wasn’t particularly busy. There was no acknowledgement of any inconvenience the delay may have caused and worse, no interest as to why someone is sitting in the waiting area of an NHS clinic, for almost an hour with seemingly no reason to be there. It’s not a large waiting area nor was it particularly crowded or busy and with two staff on, it would seem that neither pays any attention to what is going on in the waiting area, who is in that area or what they are doing.

Review titled Great experience at Saffron Walden
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by B Luxford - Posted on 03 October 2023
Recently had a follow up ultrasound booked at Addenbrooke's satellite clinic in Saffron Walden Community Hospital. From the minute I walked into the Xray and Ultrasound dept the whole experience was fantastic! The Reception lead welcomed me and even managed to book me in there and then for a very recently requested XRay. Both the radiographer and sonographer colleagues were so friendly, professional and competent it made the whole experience (that I was previously dreading!) pleasant. Thank you Saffron Walden Team.

My daughter recently spent 3 days in PICU during an illness. All the staff were so caring, both towards my daughter, my husband and myself. It was an extremely worrying time, but I felt that my daughter was in the best place, and that staff were committed to her wellbeing. Thank you, you're all fantastic!

Review titled Appendicectomy
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Tom Hyland-Hawkins - Posted on 05 September 2023
I arrived on Sunday at the accident and emergency department with a suspected appendicitis. I was seen extremely quickly and sent to ward d6 where I was initially looked after. Shortly after that I was moved to ward l2 where I spent the duration of my stay. The staff were professional, kind, helpful and extremely friendly. I had my appendix removed on the next day. When I arrived back on the ward I was again looked after very well, being offered food and drink and making sure I was comfortable. I was discharged early Tuesday morning. I had a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend the hospital. I would like to massively thank all staff involved with my stay at Addenbrookes, especially all the nurses and healthcare professionals on ward l2.

Review titled Wonderful experience at CUH Breast Clinic
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kayleigh Allen - Posted on 06 September 2023
I had to visit the Breast Clinic after suffering mastitis and the team of nurses, assistants and sonographer were brilliant. I was made to feel valued and listened to, and the staff were clearly very knowledgeable and experienced. I felt in safe hands and they went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The only negative I have is I did have to wait over 2 hours past my appointment time, but it was worth the wait. Just make sure to clear your day of plans if necessary as you may have to wait as they are extremely busy.

Review titled Professional and caring
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jane Helliwell - Posted on 17 August 2023
I was sent to A & E after telephoning 111 in the early hours of last Saturday morning and from the moment I arrived I received nothing but kindness and professional help from everyone I met. The service was simply outstanding and I want to thank all involved. Despite it being the end of their shifts every member of staff was caring and supportive from the health care assistants, radiologists, ECG nurse, clinicians and then the brilliant and kind doctor who diagnosed my pneumonia. The 111 service was excellent too, passing me onto a clinician who was equally good. We are so very fortunate to have such a wonderful NHS and such amazing staff working within it. I do hope there is a way that this review is passed on to those people who were working early last Saturday morning so they know how much they were appreciated. Thank you.
