    Following a cycling accident, I was advised by 111 to take my husband to Airedale to be checked out due to a possible head injury. All staff were friendly, professional and efficient. He was thoroughly checked and thankfully all okay. Fantastic level of care received. Thank you to all involved.

    Following on from my wonderful Recent surgical experience I suffered an excruciatingly painful episode a few days after returning home. Sadly the out of hours 111 service was an unmitigated disaster totally unfit for purpose & business & after 8 hrs misery & no Dr call my daughter was forced to call a ambulance to get me to hospital quickly. An ambulance arrived within 30 mins & had me in A & E 45 mins later. Within 20 mins a Doctor saw me diagnosed the problem & assuaged the true agony arr anged New dressings & sent me home exhausted but pain free. At this time 10hrs late a completely uninterested on call doctor called to see “how she could help”- she couldn’t & didn’t This my friends is why hospitals are under such awful pressures. Once again Well Done Airedale Hospital

    I would like to thank all the kind, caring and such incredible professional people, who treated me with compassion and respect, they even managed to retain there senses of humours, such lovely nurses and doctors from emergency admission through to diagnosis and treatment, you are all amazing special people.     At home recuperating from major surgery I can only report as I both saw and personally experienced about the Airedale Hospital. I can honestly say after 10 gruelling months of diagnosis scans tests radiotherapy chemotherapy and finally surgery that Without Exception I’ve received only excellent timely and kind care. Throughout the turmoil of the past months this fantastic hospital has remained strike free and continued to provide treatment & care in spite of a terrible work load. My lifesaving surgery was delivered by dedicated caring professionals & post op’ treatment on Ward 2 was always kind thoughtful & timely. All the staff throughout my entire 10 months have worked to bring me back to full health and they will all have a place my heart for years to come. So thank you one & all. Sadly there is one negative part to my review - I always believed good food/diet was integral to helping recovery so I found it beyond belief that the Airedale patients food was so appallingly bad. Choice content presentation & taste was all plainly awful and the caterers should be fired. The grey suits responsible for this vile offering should be severely sanctioned because they are doing their patients a truly great disservice. The patient facing catering staff put on a brave face but nothing can deflect from the sheer awfulness of the catering quality & the complicity of those responsible for serving up this muck.

    As soon as I walked into reception a lovely friendly lady greeting me and taking me to the unit right through my entire experience the staff and facilities were excellent. Thank you for all the hard work and care I am certain you provide every day.

    We had arrived in Malham on a weekend break, I had excruciating pain in my foot, so my husband took me to a&e. The staff were so helpful, I was initially seen within 10 minutes. I was told I needed an X-ray and some bloods taken to determine what was wrong. I would have to wait an hour and a half for the results, so the nurse allowed us to go and get something to eat, as we hadn’t eaten all day, then come back for the results. We went back a bit later and she had my diagnosis and the tablets all ready . I’d really like to thank the staff for their kindness and understanding.

    From my first meeting (14/4/23 12 ish) with the friendly reception staff, the quick triage of my needs and despatch to the trauma/minor injuries dept where I was promptly seen and assessed (sorry I was in pain and don’t remember all names) by a lovely sister, sent to x ray, again the radiographer was kind and took the time to ensure I was as comfortable as possible, then back to the minor injuries dept where a fabulous man explained the injury, sorted a leg brace, crutches (another friendly face) helped with the walking with crutches - I seemed to struggle with this!) and my medication. He was gentle, kind and very thorough but with humour and personality. They were very busy but still took time to reassure, explain and be very patient with me. I was in and out within 2 hours and they made the whole experience bearable. 
People are quick to moan but my limited experiences with our wonderful NHS have all been positive.

    Five Star Service Recently discharged after spending five days on ward 2. My experience of pre and post operative care was excellent. I have nothing but praise and gratitude for the hospital, it's staff and the departments that supported me through an unexpected period of illness. I must also give a special thank you to the fantastic Colorectal surgical team who cared for me every step of the way. Thank you Airedale, much appreciated.
