  1. Review titled Positive experience and wonderful care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Denise - Posted on 18 March 2023

I brought my daughter to a+e late at night purposely choosing this hospital as I had heard it was quicker and quieter than Bradford royal , which is what my d who is Autistic needs. It was a very positive experience, the staff we came across from receptionist to Drs were really good, very understanding, patient and polite. The environment and staff were calming, and eased my d stress. Thankyou very much.

  3. Review titled Ward stay geriatric ward 4

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 March 2023

Terrible experience. No care from consultant, no medical staff on ward to talk to or feedback despite my relative having dementia and an active power of attorney. Relative went on walking, now in a bed and given up on, not walking. No sister on ward to speak to, only busy sisters and busy nurses who have no time. Seems they are dumped on an elderly ward and just forgotten - why are there no conversations with the medical team despite asking the nurses for this? Why is there no stimulation - they are just sat in bed with no television and noone to talk to apart from visiting time when we can get in. My relative went in taking and walking with Jo carers, and 4 weeks later can’t talk or walk or do anything for themselves. No rehab on the ward yet either and we have had no involvement in MDT discussions despite having a power of attorney and my relative having fluctuating capacity. Telayy try Ives can’t help with meal choices despite my relative being no longer able to choose for themselves - this means they are not eating! If we could take them home we would, but without mobility or help we cannot manage alone as they now can’t do anything for themselves. The HCA s are amazing on the ward. If we ring we get no answers as to how he is either despite setting up the password!

  5. Review titled Top quality service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anne Leach - Posted on 23 February 2023

Arrived by car 12 noon, seen within 5 mins. Triaged then a wait, bloods taken then a wait. Doctor seen, then a wait, ecg done then a wait, CT scan then a wait, doctor seen and prescription provided. A call was promised from stroke department within a few days, we actually got a call 8.40 the next morning. The doctor we spoke to promised to call our gp to get us some meds and arrange an MRI scan as soon as he could. By the end of the day we had meds and a call regarding having the scan the day after. The wait in A&E does seem endless but the treatment was so thorough and caring. Felt lucky to have such caring professional people looking after my husband. Under such pressure. I cannot praise all the staff highly enough. Thank you, I was dreading visiting A&E following all the scarry press, but we were looked after so very very well.

  6. Review titled Exceptional care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Every step of the process: pre assessment, checking in, being prepared for the procedure, the procedure itself and the recovery was under taken with great professionalism. I was extremely nervous having not had cause to require any medical intervention for over 20 years but was very much treat as a human being and put at ease. All staff were informative, friendly and reassuring. My privacy was paramount to the staff and I was delighted that I was given two gowns to wear so that my walk to the theatre was dignified. During the procedure the theatre staff were informative, friendly and I never felt uneasy as they kept me informed and enquired as to my comfort. Recovery staff were attentive and frequently checked on me before I was discharged when all stats were at normal levels. I received a detailed report of the procedure, the sedatives and instruments used along with results. The day after I had a follow call to check if I was ok and was advised that I will be contacted in a weeks time with the result of the biopsy. I cannot thank the staff enough for their care and attention.

  7. Review titled Amazing help

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lisa - Posted on 27 January 2023

I was on the day ward after having key hole and I cannot thank the staff enough on ward 20 and those who looked after me when coming out of my surgery. It took me a little longer to recover and the nurse who looked after me was amazing, she made me feel safe and comfortable at all times. I wish I could thank her again in person for how great her help was!

  8. Review titled Probably my worst experience in a hospital

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 July 2023

Was admitted for stroke like symptoms, Cat scan showed shadows on my brain. Duty doctor sent me to the stroke ward where the doctor woman in there said straight away, "you have had depression in the past" I replied with "yes, 25 years ago, that's irrelevant" But she wouldn't let it go, like depression was the cause of suspected stroke, she point blank refused to talk about my symptoms etc and I felt like I was in a witch hunt for one being depressed when I was a teenager. Absolutely shocking

  9. Review titled Thorough check up

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 January 2023

Referred by NHS 111. Shortness of breath, severe cough and chest pains. Attended by family transport. Triage was within 20 minutes of arrival then straight in for ECG, blood tests. Later saw a practioner nurse, chest X-ray and back to wait for results of further blood tests. Initial result showed anaemia. Had an iron infusion. Antibiotics also prescribed. Follow up appointment arranged for a week for a second iron infusion. Cannot fault the care given to me by all staff, from reception to leaving. Total time on the unit was about 5 hours. Obviously some of this time was waiting for bloods to be processed. On arrival the A and E unit was an exceptionally quiet Sunday morning about 1020. Many thanks to all the staff.

  10. Review titled Excellent Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Declan - Posted on 23 December 2022

I attended the Day Surgery Procedure Ward. Both the Nurses and the Consultants/surgeons were very friendly and thoroughly explained what was going to happen during my stay. I had a good discussion with the anaesthetist who explained what the best option for me was and why. I felt well cared for at all stages of the procedure.
