Dear Paula, thank you for your review of your mother's experience of CDU and Quince ward. We are very pleased to read that firstly, a nurse from another department went to the effort to help you find your mother. Also we note that CDU looked after your mother very well and staff on Quince ward continue to. We will pass on your kind words to management. Best wishes to you and your mother, the patient experience team.

  2. Review titled A&E was absolutely Heaving!

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Donna Anker - Posted on 29 April 2024

Arrived at 3.30pm to meet one of my sons who was in a cubicle in A&E Dept - the place was absolutely full, however …. I was met by the most courteous and polite staff. Explanations of what was going on were given in an informative, honest and patient manner. Doctor was amazing and Nurse in charge of a very busy department was patient and kind. Could see they were all up against it - but couldnt fault them. Thank you 😀

I don't know why this emergency department is even open!! Excuse me but wait with 1 year old 12 hours to see the doctor... Wooow NHS well done to you! Nurses chatting for stupid thing with each other! Not even come to check my Son... I needed to go 3 times to ask them to check temperature of my son!! Only I can say thank you to the doctor with his professional work, he was lovely and very kind!

Dear Karin, we're very sorry to read that you had such a poor experience with our paediatric emergency department. We note that there was a 12 hour wait to see a doctor and that your son was not checked on. We would advise that you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) to look into this further for you, if you haven't already. PALS can be contacted by email at bcfpals@nhs.net or telephone on 0208 216 4924. We do separately note that you were grateful to the doctor you saw, who was kind and professional and will also pass this along. Apologies again for your poor experience and we hope your child is recovering well. Best wishes, the patient experience team.

  4. Review titled Above and Beyond Expectations

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by S Clarke - Posted on 15 April 2024

I was refered to Rheumatology for a diagnosis of Raynauds and on my first appointment also had bursitis treated. In my follow up phone appointment I discussed ongoing fatigue as well as a flare up of Trigeminal Neuralgia, which was not being controlled or investigated by my GP. My consultant arranged for a reassuring MRI which reduced the stress that was preventing pain management to some degree. I have finally been discharged with a diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue. I cannot praise the team enough for their care and attention.

  8. Review titled Great birth experiences

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 May 2024

Very good birth and aftercare from maternity services cannot fault this, only thing letting this hospital down is the lack of parking, a lot of staff parking not enough patient parking and I had to come 1-1.5 hours before my appointments to find some sort of parking. Please do think about expanding this visitor and patient parking.

Dear reviewer, thank you for taking the time to share your experience of our maternity services. We're very pleased to read that you received excellent care that could not be faulted. In terms of parking, there is on-going work in our estates team to maximise the space available on site to ensure both staff and patients can park, but space will always be limited and unfortunately it cannot be guaranteed. We appreciate the impact this has on patients/service users though and management are always trying to find solutions to improve the parking experience. Best wishes, the patient experience team.

  10. Review titled worst a&e. don't come here

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 March 2024

My brother has stage 4 lung cancer. He was rushed by ambulance with extreme stomach pain. It took them 2 hours for the nurses to see my brother and 5 for the doctors to actually come. After that, they left him wait apparently waiting on the medical team. In total so far he's waiting for 10 hours and no sign of anyone. Absolutely waste of NHS money. The only good thing about Barnet hospital A&E are the nurses which are very understaffed and overworked, and even though, they're on top of everything. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the doctors
