  1. Review titled Very bad experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Rm15 - Posted on 08 July 2024

My 4yrs old is 5 now. Gp's said they reffered her to basildon for her bent finger and we got letter to book appointment. It could be false letter. If it was a hospital referral we should have got appointment letter. However we have been calling children's department every single day and stayed in line for 6 hours. No one picked up. We also called reception and they transferred the call to the same extention but no one picked. We have been trying for few months but unresponsive. Looks like we were playing lottery. That so called hospital should be investigated. We pay high national insurance for nothing in return. Wow! NHS.

  2. Review titled Children's A&E

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Thank you all so much for dealing with my 9 year olds broken arm on Tuesday. We were rushed through, by the ladies on the desk at A&E, the XRay was done within an hour of the break. And he was straightened back out within a couple of hours. The care through the whole ordeal was amazing, and I feel very lucky with everyone that was working the shift that day! Thank you again we got a fair road to recovery but we know we are in great hands. Thank you bone doctors, and ressuss too! You were all fantastic. Nice to see people that actually care for there little patients, so heartwarming. Also, the orthopedic doctors today were great aswell with my boy. Gold stars all round.

  3. Review titled Excellent care - Orsett Hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Margaret - Posted on 09 August 2023

I attended the Haematology Day Unit at Orsett Hospital on 3rd August for a procedure to be done, which I was not looking forward to! From the moment I arrived, the kindness, care, attention and professionalism of the staff was obvious, whether dealing with patients in person or by telephone. I would like to thank everyone in the Unit for their attention and care, particularly the nurses who did my procedure. Observing what went on around me, I could see that all staff had the same attitude to patients. We are so lucky to have you - thank you, you should be proud of the work you do. I hope my full comments can be passed on to all staff of the Unit, with my grateful thanks.

I was placed on AMU west for monitoring after having seizures… I’ve been in many wards in Basildon hospital but this ward goes beyond and more for their patients the nursing staff are friendly and very kind and go above and beyond to help their patients

  5. Review titled Lack of care, dignity and compassion

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 July 2023

After what was meant to be a short admission to hospital for treatment, my Mum contracted Covid whilst on the Ward, and had a rapid decline. Nobody informed us that she had been put on 'End of Life Care', We had to find that out for ourselves, The word 'care' should most definitely not be used in this! Complete lack of interest from staff, no regular checks, no compassion, no dignity, lack of communication, dirty ward, staff not wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, overflowing soiled matter in toilet bins, tick check on cleaning taken place in the toilets was once a fortnight! A horrible experience and end of life for my Mum. Complete disgrace.

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Wendy shirley - Posted on 13 July 2023

I had a telephone appointment booked for 11.30 this morning. Nobody phoned. I telephoned at 3pm and could only speak to receptionist who told me my appointment is for November. Dr at another hospital was waiting for feed back but I was toldbasically in somanywords, tough. I hadno help at all. I am not at all impressed with this department. There is noone to speak to for help or advice. I hadto look up on line for information!

  9. Review titled Superb service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Carole - Posted on 16 July 2023

I had to visit A&E after a nasty burn and advice from 111 to attend ( I was trying desperately not to attend as I know how ridiculously busy you all are but took their advice ) After seeing the triage nurse I was told about 3 hours to see a doctor but I was called back in after 10 mins and all was fine. Great team of which you should be very proud especially the strain they must have been under with junior doctor strikes. Thank you so much - you all do a fantastic job !

  10. Review titled Excellent care - thank you

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Margaret M. - Posted on 09 August 2023

I attended the Endoscopy Unit at Basildon on both 1st June 2023 and 5th July 2023. I was most definitely not looking forward to either procedure that I needed to have, but the kindness, care and professionalism of all staff within the Unit was outstanding. From the moment I arrived, everyone I met went out of their way to make a not very pleasant experience something much easier to cope with. How very lucky are we to have people like this working for the NHS? The hospital should be proud of them and they should be proud of what they do. From my personal experience of the Unit, the care could not have been bettered, even with private care. I'd be very grateful if my thanks and comments could be passed on to the staff within the Endoscopy Unit.
