  1. Review titled A&E experience

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 August 2023

My recent experience A&E was good. Waiting times were reasonable, tests were done quickly and results came back quickly as well. On arrival at A&E , One doesn't know wether to queue up for reception or triage: a clear sign would be helpful. Also, although junior doctor communicated very clearly with me, I would have liked to have spoken to the consultant.

  3. Review titled Great experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Penny - Posted on 18 August 2023

I was a patient in Basildon A&E on Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Every member of staff I met was kind and helpful, there was a long wait time but this was communicated to me in Triage and the estimated timing was spot on. Care was efficient, obs , bloods, triage assessment and ECG all done in one go. The Doctor I saw was kind and understanding as well as thorough and reassuring. He checked if I had had anything to eat and drink several times as did the nursing staff so I felt cared for in a holistic way. I had to have several further tests which were all done very promptly and the Doctor was very conscientious in keeping me informed of the progress on several occasions. Thank you to everyone I met and all those who work hard in the background to keep the service running.

  4. Review titled Another poor and unsafe discharge from Basildon Hospital

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Christopher Hampson - Posted on 07 August 2023

No communication from the hospital during stay. No diagnosis. No communication from hospital for discharge plan. No care plan to avoid future admittance to this hospital. Usual great service from The East of England Ambulance Service.

  5. Review titled Children's A&E

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Thank you all so much for dealing with my 9 year olds broken arm on Tuesday. We were rushed through, by the ladies on the desk at A&E, the XRay was done within an hour of the break. And he was straightened back out within a couple of hours. The care through the whole ordeal was amazing, and I feel very lucky with everyone that was working the shift that day! Thank you again we got a fair road to recovery but we know we are in great hands. Thank you bone doctors, and ressuss too! You were all fantastic. Nice to see people that actually care for there little patients, so heartwarming. Also, the orthopedic doctors today were great aswell with my boy. Gold stars all round.

  6. Review titled Excellent care - Orsett Hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Margaret - Posted on 09 August 2023

I attended the Haematology Day Unit at Orsett Hospital on 3rd August for a procedure to be done, which I was not looking forward to! From the moment I arrived, the kindness, care, attention and professionalism of the staff was obvious, whether dealing with patients in person or by telephone. I would like to thank everyone in the Unit for their attention and care, particularly the nurses who did my procedure. Observing what went on around me, I could see that all staff had the same attitude to patients. We are so lucky to have you - thank you, you should be proud of the work you do. I hope my full comments can be passed on to all staff of the Unit, with my grateful thanks.

I was placed on AMU west for monitoring after having seizures… I’ve been in many wards in Basildon hospital but this ward goes beyond and more for their patients the nursing staff are friendly and very kind and go above and beyond to help their patients

  8. Review titled Lack of care, dignity and compassion

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 July 2023

After what was meant to be a short admission to hospital for treatment, my Mum contracted Covid whilst on the Ward, and had a rapid decline. Nobody informed us that she had been put on 'End of Life Care', We had to find that out for ourselves, The word 'care' should most definitely not be used in this! Complete lack of interest from staff, no regular checks, no compassion, no dignity, lack of communication, dirty ward, staff not wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, overflowing soiled matter in toilet bins, tick check on cleaning taken place in the toilets was once a fortnight! A horrible experience and end of life for my Mum. Complete disgrace.

I had a telephone appointment booked for 11.30 this morning. Nobody phoned. I telephoned at 3pm and could only speak to receptionist who told me my appointment is for November. Dr at another hospital was waiting for feed back but I was toldbasically in somanywords, tough. I hadno help at all. I am not at all impressed with this department. There is noone to speak to for help or advice. I hadto look up on line for information!
