Review titled Very Efficient
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I went to the endoscopy department for a procedure yesterday. The whole process was well run and I was kept informed and reassured throughout. I was also at the eye centre a year ago and found that equally well run. Well done.

Went for a chest xray today, following a referral from gp this morning. From parking my car, having the xray and leaving the hospital it took 21 minutes - no car park charge. Excellent staff too

Review titled Excellent service and care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Janet Allen - Posted on 20 October 2023
I live on the south coast of England but needed to visit the Urgent care centre whilst staying with my daughter. I was blown away with the amazing service I received - our local hospital has a lot to learn from you. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful, such a contrast to my local hospital where they just view you as an inconvenience. I was impressed by some of the questions that I was asked, such as was it OK to inform people that I was at the centre if anyone called. Having worked in adult and child protection in the past, I found this such a proactive and reassuring question. All the staff I met introduced themselves by their name and gave me the impression that they were not rushed and wanted to listen to me. I was seen swiftly by Triage, followed by an ECG and then seen by the doctor. All in all I only spent just over an hour there, which was very speedy. I came away feeling that people in Chorley are very lucky to have such a good service to help them. I know that sometimes there is a belief that everything is better in the south, well I can confirm that for most of the time, it's not better and a lot of the time it's a lot worse !

Review titled Went above and beyond to ensure my comfort
by Adamorphine - Posted on 23 October 2023
First of all, I just want to say a massive thank you to the staff of Leyland Ward at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital for the amazing care they gave me during my recovery from spinal decompression surgery. This was my first time going under the knife and I could not of been made to feel more at ease and felt cared for by the fantastic team here, They will go above and beyond to ensure you are as comfortable as possible and are a real credit to the NHS. Day or night, these ladies will be a call away offering true heartfelt care to patients like myself listening to every need or request and doing the best in their ability to accommodate as best they can. Again thank you so much to this incredible team you really have been amazing.

I had 2nd knee replacement surgery, attended by the surgeon and assistants+ the nursing staff on the Leyland Ward , all gave outstanding care throughout, I had choices where I could have the operation having had the same outstanding care with my first knee replacement it was the obvious Choice. I can highly recommend all the staff on the Leyland Ward.”

Review titled Shocking

I really hoped I’d have a good experience and a new start with a new clinic ??? How wrong I was firstly I’ve now been under Chorley hospitals for diabetic care for almost 3 yrs now and in that time I’ve seen the dsn once then they discharged me without consultation with myself ??? In that appointment they didn’t address any of the issues I went with and because I had a moderate control of my blood glucose levels I’ve since found out that’s why I was discharged sighting I didn’t need there care ???? Problem is I do need there care and support and since being discharged I’ve not been well and they have ignored all emails sent telling them I’m not feeling well and on the very rare occasion they do reply they just tell me to ether go to my GP (who can’t help) or ring my consultants secretary (who’s not medically trained and can’t help ) or go to A&E ??? I find all this very unprofessional and they don’t have a duty of care towards there patients????? My GP wants to re refer me to them but they have caused me great anxiety and stress I just don’t think I can trust there judgement on things regarding my health and well-being????

I attended A&E today after two dogs attacked my cat, and I came off worst trying to defend my cat. The department was busy and the waiting room was full, however I was seen very quickly by lovely staff who took very good care of me. A huge thank you to everyone in Chorley’s A&E Urgent Care Centre, you do a fantastic job, and even when you are so busy you find the time to be kind as well, which is truly appreciated.

I was terrified of going in for cataract surgery having had bad experiences of hospitals. All the staff were marvellous. They kept me calm and even managed to get a cannula in to sedate me. I can’t thank them or praise them enough. The operation was fine. I now have my sight back in my right eye.

Review titled Great service

The receptionist at Chorley urgent care centre was extremely attentive. He checked my 3 month old baby in, offered me a private room to wait in due to my babies young age and vulnerability to picking up germs. He proceeded to keep me updated on how long I’d have to wait having seen I was anxious to get my baby back home asap. The level of care and attention I received was above and beyond what I would expect from such a busy environment. I felt my baby was cared for exceptionally well thanks to the considerate approach of the reception staff.
