Review titled Minor Surgery Excellent Treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 01 September 2023
I had a lump removed earlier today and was treated with respect, checked in on constantly throughout and made to feel very comfortable and relaxed. My only constructive feedback would around the reception checking in process. I felt uncomfortable having to verbally confirm the first line of my address and mobile number in front of other patients. Maybe a system where different questions can be asked such as house number, last part of postcode and last three digits of mobile would be more suitable? Overall a great experience of Chorley Dermatology. I am so grateful to have such a high standard if facilities so close to home. Thank you.

Review titled Total Shambles
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Malcolm Barton - Posted on 05 July 2023
I went for a blood test to Chorley Hospital today and followed all the signs to the clinic from the entrance to the hospital. I arrived there to find out the clinic had moved to another floor about a 5 minute walk away with no signs showing me the way. What a total disgrace.

Review titled New Blood Test Clinic a total shambles
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by John Prescott - Posted on 14 July 2023
I attended the blood test clinic this morning to obtain a blood test for my leukaemia appointment. Apparently it has moved from inside the ground floor nearest the main entrance to the 3rd floor by the old maternity building. I am disabled and have difficulty even standing these days so walking is very difficult and painful. I finally arrived at 0815 hrs and there is no place to sit apart from a window sill outside. Once inside there are only 20 hard chairs to sit on to wait your turn after being given by a plastic ticket. Any more than 20 waiting and you have to stand. Nobody minded waiting for 40 or 60 minutes which we have all been doing for the last 20 years in the previous outpatient waiting room because there were comfortable chairs and a Tv and toilets available. Putting the blood test clinic so far out of reach is simply showing not caring about the your patients in any way. There were no signs saying that it had moved either. The nurses who take the blood are always & always have been first class phlebotomists and still are and are far better than those part timers you get at the local GP as well. Somebody who knows nothing about patient care has moved the blood clinic at Chorley hospital without a thought for how patients are going to access it or find it either. When you finally do find it it is just a little room with no privacy or facilities for waiting either. Even the car park all the way around the side is minuscule without disabled bays of any note. Finding our way back to the main entrance and car park was a nightmare. We ended up by the mortuary for heaven's sakes. No joke. Put it back to where it was please and make many patients a whole lot happier please. No ifs or buts or excuses. It's not fit for purpose at the moment. Thank you

I attended Urgent Care after a chest infection deteriorated. I was quickly signed in at reception, triaged efficiently, and saw the doctor within an hour. I then had an X-ray and a further consultation with the doctor. Every member of staff I encountered was pleasant and helpful. We’ll done urgent care proving outstanding service during difficult times.

The staff at the hospital very rarely acknowledge you, from Reception through to medical. The nurse that did my tirade asked question I dont recall her saying hello, I'm? Took my blood pressure over my clothes and took my temperature not once saying she was going to do this. Told to take a sit, I then watch her call other people in without any recognition and almost dragging her feet across the department. Would it hurt to smile and be kind. The doctor was great. I am sorry but do have to say that all my experiences at Chorley have left me with a dread of going there purely because of the unfriendly atmosphere.
