Review titled Replacement Knee Joint
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Fiona - Posted on 17 July 2023
I had been waiting for a very long time for my knee surgery and was apprehensive as time approached. All staff from my consultant who started seeing me originally to staff on Great Tey ward were wonderful and I cannot fault any for their care and professionalism. I am now in recovery at home and feel the whole procedure was slick and I personally cannot thank all enough. I am now continuing to carry out convalescent at home and hope that when I return for my other knee I will receive exactly the same great service from everyone.

Review titled A Very Good Experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 July 2023
On visiting A&E on Saturday night, just after midnight with a bleed from my back, I was quickly assessed by the young nurse and told there would be a considerable wait which I had expected. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. Due to the number of people there, I had to sit in a different area from my partner. They went and got him for me when it was time to see the doctor- which was fine! My wound was dealt with in a very friendly and proffesional way. Altogether a good experience.

Review titled Absolutely appalling
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Alan Carter - Posted on 09 July 2023
As above. These so called reviews are nothing more than an orgy of self congratultion for the nhs. Anything justifible poor will not be printed. Having turned up with severe abdominal pain I was eventually told I was suffering an ongoing condition and seeing my GP for a referral was the appropriate course of action. Not remotely close to good enough.

Review titled Experience exceeded expectations
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by DAVID LAPPAGE - Posted on 12 June 2023
After ignoring an abdominal hernia for some years I finally accepted I needed help as an emergency. Prospect of waiting time for ambulance, queueing in the ambulance and in the corridors was not too appealing. This waiting time was only a small issue compared with what followed. My experience with each step of the process, ambulance service, a&e, eia, surgical theatre and finally the ward care was fantastic. All my fears about an operation, now urgently required and with possible complications, were managed in a very caring and understanding manner. The teamwork and friendliness of everyone was great to experience especially with the huge pressures around everyone in a constant unrelenting way. I cannot speak highly enough of our nhs and the commitment given by all nhs staff. After 3 days I was discharged and now recovering at home, my thoughts being what was I so worried about! Although individual names are not permitted I will always remember many from the paramedics through to my senior consultant, many thanks to everyone.

Review titled Amazing care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Charlotte Morrison - Posted on 01 July 2023
Mt mum had a fall and injured her head and ear. We arrived at A&E, we were seen immediately and a fantastic nurse took incredible care of my mum. I'm not mentioning names as per the conditions of this review. We were also seen by an injury clinician who was also fantastic. Mum was treated and we were out within an hour.

I attended with my nephew today and could not believe how fantastic the dermatology service was. The nurse we saw was first class, he explained everything in great detail which was understandable to us. We also saw a wonderfully caring dermatologist.

My experience a Colchester hospital gynaecology department, was very unpleasant, treatment l have received at different hospital over the last six years or more for the same problem at Colchester hospital was lacking in inexperienced staff who caused me a lot of unesserary pain and discomfort, that was far greater than it should have been.

by Alan Lock - Posted on 21 June 2023
Arrived at a/e with my partner who was in extreme pain and was pushed from waiting room to waiting room waited over 7 hours to see a doctor who then discharged her to return for a scan the next day upon driving back was called by doctor to return to hospital then waited another 5 hours to be then told to return at 12 o'clock for a ct scan when we checked nobody knew anything about the appointment so was told to wait after 6 hours waiting had a scan lasting no longer than 5 minutes was then told to await results and to see a doctor the nurses spend more time chatting and checking there mobile phones and doctors seem to disappear never to return found the whole experience disgusting
