Review titled Disorganised Chaos - disgusting begaviours
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Sue Percival - Posted on 14 June 2023
: From the condescending rude receptionist, to the lies of it will be 7 hours, to some who were told you are 2nd in the queue & then a steam of people go ahead of him. I arrived with my 85 yr old mother at 20:10 was not given a number of where we were in the queue when I went to ask receptionist who straight away looked at her screen then her watch “you have only been here 53 minutes”. We are now at 04:40 & the wound has not been mentioned let alone dressed & are still waiting to see a doctor, and the results from tests were in at 01:30. Really is this the way to treat human beings. I should have have taken her to the vet, they know how to treat animals, that’s how we feel we are being treated. Apart from the tea man who is fantastic. Get some proper systems in place, train the staff & all receptionists should be highly trained in customer service using empathy & caring, if they can’t do that then they are in the wrong job. They sent an 85 year old woman home without cleaning the wound, presumably no concerns of infection control & Sepsis. However this concern is now logged, so over to you she was under your care.

Review titled Wonderful Staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Emily Adams - Posted on 14 June 2023
I had my first experience with A&E today which I was very nervous about, and I have left feeling grateful & relieved from the care that I received from the doctor I was seen by. She was thorough and knowledgeable about my issue, and went what I felt was above and beyond. The staff don’t get enough credit and everyone I spoke to in the facility were helpful and patient. I’ve left feeling very grateful for the care I received and feel as though my doctor was thorough and didn’t hesitate to check everything necessary to make sure I left with the information needed. Thank you!

I recently had a TURP procedure. I also had to spend a day in ICU before transfer to Ward 52. Staff in the Operating Theatre, Recovery, ICU and Ward 52 were brilliant! I could not have wished for better treatment and care. Thank you all.

My 89 year old father arrived at A and E around 16-15 in the afternoon with a suspected blood clot in arm.Left A and E at 12-45 am with injection of blood clot thinners and prescription for more. The wait time for a elderly person of his age is a disgrace ,a suspected blood clot is serious and he should have been seen right away !!!

Review titled Absolutely brilliant department
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 July 2023
My little girl was referred after a sight check at school. All I can say is that so far our whole experience has been brilliant. The department is clean, efficient and the staff are really professional, it feels efficient. The communication is great we knew exactly what was going on. The Dr we saw who did the tests was just brilliant, great rapport with my daughter whose only 4 and really clear, calm, helpful and professional when speaking to us (parents) From my personal experience this department is an example of how the NHS should run. I could not speak more highly of this department, thank you so much.

Review titled Sensitive and fantastic staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 May 2023
I had to go in for surgery under general due to a missed miscarriage. I was so scared, the staff were fantastic. I went to the theatre lounge at 7.30am- my husband couldn't come with me which was a shame. The anaesthetist let me know I would be going in around 11-11.30. I actually went in just after 10am. The staff were all so sensitive and lovely. When I came around and was taken to the jubilee day centre, I had my own room. Not sure if it was due to general or not but it was really helpful given the circumstances and my husband could be with me. Staff were lovely and great thank you so much.

Review titled Can't praise the staff enough
by Simon825 - Posted on 19 May 2023
Was admitted to ward 53, Castle ward, twice in the last month for an angioplasty that failed, followed by an elected above knee amputation of the left leg. Whilst amputation may seem extreme, I must explain I was diagnosed with MS ten years ago and the left leg has been suffering badly with MS symptoms. Anyway, long story short, can’t praise the staff on 53 enough. Thank you for all you hard work and compassion, helping me through a very traumatic time in my life. Thank you.
