Rated 5 stars out of 5

Went in by 999 through A&E with a really bad chest infection, however also had covid, so ended up in an isolation ward, ward 444 great all round the staff should get a decent pay rise, from HCA to doctors and nurses the care was absolutely pain free Thank you countess staff you're great

Was taken by paramedic they were fantastic straight into a e was there for 2 days on a horrible trolley bed., But was well looked after can't remember much. Then was taken to respirtry unit and put into resuss bay. Staff fantastic from domestics doctors all nurses and cleric staff. Could not fault them. I had double phnebonia and was very lucky. I was an inpatient following hip surgery, one particular individual care assistant was far above the rest, her name was Sabena Alex.

  7. Review titled 21 people in A&E, 8.5 hour waiting time

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 March 2023

I've been here since 2300 it is currently 0605, bloods were taken at midnight, I was originally given a time of 1.5 hours, then 6 and now 8.5hrs. I fear that this time will increase further. I am not confident that I will be seen before 1000. This is a bit ridiculous.

  8. Review titled Efficient and caring

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Recently had daycase gynae surgery. The admission process via admissions lounge was highly efficient, seeing anaesthetist , consultant and nurse for bloods within half hour. My surgery commenced within the hour. All concerned were kind , empathetic and professional . This care followed through to ward 54 where again the care could not be faulted. Congratulations and Thankyou for your care.

  9. Review titled Vascular surgery and pre and post operative care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lorna Edmondson - Posted on 25 February 2023

My husband was admitted from Warrington General Hospital with a femoral aneurysm resulting in a deep vein thrombosis in his leg. The care he received on ward 53 was exceptional from consultants down to auxiliary staff both prior and after surgery . He underwent major surgery and was admitted to the intensive care unit, again receiving exceptional care from all the staff. I and my husband cannot thank all those involved in his care enough. He is now recovering slowly following a bypass of the artery and continues to receive excellent after care . Cannot praise the vascular unit enough

  10. Review titled Dismal A&E Experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 February 2023

I’m not going to waste too much of my time on this department as I’ve done enough of that already. I brought my elderly mother into A&E at approximately 10:30pm due to a suspected heart condition … first impressions was the amount of rubbish lying around and general dirtiness of the place, it was bitterly cold outside yet the ceiling air conditioning was also blowing freezing cold air on everybody in the waiting area including my elderly mother. The reception staff were more interested in chatting with each other than meeting the needs of incoming patients who just left standing at the office window, the Drs looked like they were on a go-slow as the waiting queue hardly moved for hours on end, it seemed like people were being placated with minor triage treatments to keep them quiet then left to their own devices not knowing what was happening or when … whilst the Drs tried to get their act together. After patiently waiting for 7hrs in the ‘freezing waiting room’ I asked reception about the queue length and was told 2 more hours? After 2 more hours I cornered a nonchalant looking dr about the queue … 2 more hours I was told, you do the maths! At that point my mother was looking and feeling worse than when she went into a&e! In her best interest I had to take her home and instead called her GP to treat her. She has now caught a chest infection and cold to add to her heart condition! I don’t know about other hospitals but coch A&E dept is an absolute joke! The operational management combined with the lacklustre attitude of the staff does not fill me or the other people who ‘cut their losses’ and had to leave without treatment. The issue is the staff want a pay rise and they are willing to risk patients health to get it … for the good of all? Don’t you have to perform to deserve more money, not the other way around? 2/10 for effort.
