  1. Review titled Wonderful caring staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Audrey - Posted on 06 November 2022

I visited the children’s an and e department on the 4th November 2022. From the receptionist in main A and E to everyone we saw in the children’s A and E everyone made my grandson smile and feel at ease. I would particularly like to mention the young lady in x-ray who was absolutely brilliant. My grandson asked so many questions about what was happening and what each piece of equipment was .. Nothing was too much trouble for her to answer , she was so kind and caring. I would love for her to know how much her kindness was appreciated. Another lady worth a special mention was the lovely lady in the children’s A and E who was checking if children needed books, colouring , food. Without a doubt they are all deserving of 10 stars. Thank you all. If I could mention names I would you are brilliant and all deserve much more pay.

Thank you for sharing your recent experience at Doncaster Royal Infirmary with us. I am so pleased to hear how happy you were with the attitude of staff and the care your grandson received. It must have been a scary time for him, as well as yourself, but I'm so proud of our staff for being able to put him at ease and even get a smile! I will share your lovely words with our staff and hopefully they will be able to track down the individuals involved in your grandson's care. Best wishes, Libby

  2. Review titled Service is shocking

Rated 1 star out of 5

Waited over 10 months for my son now age 3 to be referred (moved into area.. Was provided glasses summer 2021) was due for a check up in June 2022. Finally given an appointment for November 2022. Was put on a "missing" waiting list by the sounds of it.. My son refuses to wear glasses most likely because he needs a new prescription.. Tried to call today to get the appointment brought forward.. Over 15 minutes in hold. No answer no apologies just sat there on hold.

  4. Review titled Fantastic Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sarah-leigh Holloway Smith - Posted on 31 October 2022

I took my son to Out of Hours last night at DRI urgent care, and I was so impressed and thankful to the GP that assisted us there. My son is 2 and can be challenging, but she was thorough, and considerate not only to how she examined him but also in prescribing. This may sound simple, but no other doctor I have seen with my son has considered how he would tolerate the medication once we leave the doctors office. She listened to our concerns and was able to look at the situation in context, which is important as our son is non verbal. I was so impressed with her care, professionalism and consideration. What a fantastic GP, and what a asset to the NHS she is! Thank you!

  5. Review titled All the staff have been absolutely brilliant

    by waterxt98 - Posted on 27 October 2022

After an urgent referral from my gp I was seen at the Jasmine Centre in late June and had scans and a biopsy done the same day. After cancer was diagnosed I've had many tests and scans then surgery and I am now undergoing chemotherapy. All the staff have been absolutely brilliant, caring , informative and reassuring from the consultant's to HCA,s and especially the BCN,s who tirelessly explain your personal situation and are always at the end of the phone when needed. I honestly don't have the words to thank them enough and although my journey is ongoing I will be forever grateful that this brilliant centre is provided within my local hospital.

  7. Review titled Colonoscopy what a wonderful service,

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Neil Whimp - Posted on 27 September 2022

I can't say I was looking forward to my colonoscopy at the Doncaster Royal Infirmary Endoscopy unit in Doncaster but I need not have worried. The specialist screening practitioner contacted me a few days beforehand and explained clearly what would happen and what I needed to do in advance (covid test, 6-day diet, and laxative). On the day, my appointment started exactly on time. The team (apologies I don't recall everyone's name) were exemplary and all members made every effort to look after me while performing the procedure with great professionalism. The procedure was painless and although I had pain killer injection i didnt feel a thing from start to finish. Every step was explained to me clearly and my questions were answered clearly. It was really interesting being able to see everything the doctor was seeing on the monitor and quite educational. The music choices also helped to relax me and provide a nice distraction. There were no side effects and my gut was back to normal after a few days. I can't praise the unit enough from the reception at the start to the cup of tea at the end. I don't want to have a repeat colonoscopy (obviously) but if I do need one I'd be pretty relaxed about it. 5-star treatment and process. What a team you should be proud of the services you provide the care you gave me was exceptional and I can't thank you enough.

  9. Review titled Outstanding and meaningful care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kyra - Posted on 06 December 2022

During my 3 week stay on m1 during September, the care i received was amazing! Something i will never forget no matter how old my little boy gets! i was admitted due to high blood pressure which then developed to pre-e. The midwife’s and nurses on the ward were patient, and you could clearly see that they wanted the best for their patients. They were doing my blood pressure regularly, sometimes half hourly, they were checking in on blood sugars and overall just really cared about me as their patient! They let me cry to them, laugh with them and just be there. They questioned consultants that i disagreed with and ensured that i was listened to! I had my little boy, Theo via emergency c-section on 21/09/22 and even returning to the ward alone as my boy was on nnu, the care i received was just as amazing. They checked in on me, my well-being, my physical health, when i was spending all my time on nnu they kept on track of my medication and just proved that they really were there as they loved their jobs! I’ll always be appreciate of every single person i came across during my stay, but the midwife who sat for nearly an hour holding my monitors in place as Mr fidget would not stay still, the midwife’s that made me bread and butter early hours and the staff that were there when i was struggling. i really do recommend their service to everyone and will even register at this hospital again in my next pregnancy! Thank you so so much for everything you’ve done :) Will always always be with me xoxo i truly believe if it wasn’t for the reassurance that they provided, my little boy wouldn’t have had the safe arrival that he had!

  10. Review titled Very professional colonoscopy procedure

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 August 2022

I can't say I was looking forward to my colonoscopy at the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals Endoscopy unit in Doncaster but I needn't have worried. The procedure was painless and although I had nitrous oxide/air available on demand I didn't use it after the first minute or so. Every step was explained to me clearly and my questions were answered clearly. It was really interesting being able to see everything the doctor was seeing on the monitor and quite educational. There were no side effects and my gut was back to normal after a few days. I don't want to have a repeat colonoscopy (obviously) but if I do need one I'd be pretty relaxed about it. 5-star treatment and process.
