Throughout 2 pregnancies, the first of which sadly resulted in the loss of our daughter at 24 weeks due to a heart condition, the maternity staff at Doncaster have been fantastic. Whenever we went for scans at the hospital we were always treated with care and compassion, and the midwives in the unit were always friendly and welcoming. The bereavement team that work in the unit are fantastic, and supported us through the loss of our first child, but also through the pregnancy with our second daughter, knowing that our experience could make the second pregnancy very difficult. When we then went into labour with our second daughter, the team in the central delivery suite were fantastic and made it a relatively easy delivery. We were then moved onto the labour ward for the night where we were cared for extremely well and the staff ensured both me and my daughter were well and healthy before being discharged. A massive thank you to all involved in our care, what a great service you are helping to provide

Happy to report that I was cared for by excellent, professional and friendly staff. Even though I've had an endoscopy several times before (in the south west, which weren't great) the team at Doncaster were efficient, understanding and kind. Couldn't have been any better. Many thanks from a rather claustrophobic patient. xx

After having a fight with a swinging door! At school 111 advised me to take my son to be checked out … between 111 booking us and going to A&E we were dealt with very promptly, the place was very busy but the nurses and doctor we interacted with remained calm and courteous in the busyness and heat they were working in. I had car parking for the whole evening but we were in and out within about 2.5 hrs.

From booking in to the care, understanding and immense support from all the staff I was so very impressed with the care/treatment given to me especially not knowing what to expect and being a very emotional state. Informed of every step and follow up appointment all in a good time span. Thankyou so much. You all do a magnificent job.

Recently had a Colonoscopy. The staff were wonderful, very caring and professional. I was very well looked after. Please find a way to pay these dedicated workers, what they are really worth.

Having had blood taken many times which is not easy finding my veins with some difficult results and extreme bruising I came on Friday the26th of may and a young man took my bloods he was brilliant,first time and not one mark.He was fantastic.

When I was in hospital they put a canula in my ankle it tissued but they said it was OK I kept saying for 5 days it's gone finally another nurse saw it and took it out as by this point I didn't have an ankle bone fast forward to coming home my foot swelled up then my hand swelled up then I came out with skin blotches all over so went Dr's the canula in my foot had an infection in the tissue that has spread up to my hand n arm the blotches was sign of a blood infection so Dr said it's got caught early otherwise I'd have sepsis. If surgical ward had listened when I said the canula was gone it would have avoided all this now got sky high temperature n its flared my pancreas up because infections can do that

I am a stage 4 breast cancer patient with mets to brain and bones. As part of my follow up care I need to have ct and mris every 3 months to keep on top of the cancer, these scans are necessary! Every 3 months since October 2021 and I was diagnosed as terminal I have had to chase my CT scan appointments which I cannot tell you adds to the stress of an already extremely stressful situation. My oncologist requests them far in advanced with a note on to say when I need scanning. These are never released in a timely manner by the radiographer and when they are eventually released there are no appointments dates because guess what they've left it too late. I have spoke to a ct receptionist months ago who refused point blank to book an appointment, this complaint was dealt with separately. Now, I have had a ct scan booked for tomorrow which has been booked for a week (after I chased it up again) to now be told they are cancelling appointments due to staffing. I'm sorry Doncaster hospital but this is disgusting! What happens if I have progression but I wouldn't know because my scan has been cancelled! You are literally playing with people's lives, these scans are necessary for people like me. And they wonder why South Yorkshire has the worse cancer rates!! Sort it out

I recently needed care via the paramedics and A and E Staff. I cannot praise their professionalism and caring attitude enough. The paramedic staff with the ambulance service were excellent. Very reassuring, calm and caring. The A and E staff were equally impressive. They were busy but even looking after other patients you could tell how caring all the staff were.
