Review titled Poor attitude of a member of staff (bloodtest)
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 31 December 2023
I accompanied by husband of 83 yrs old for a blood test. I was concerned that with a blood profile and ask the staff without any (name badge) to identify her name, does it require an additional specimen tube for that test. The staff with name badge replied abruptly ( I only carried out the test what the doctor asked not from anyone else) After the blood test I wanted to hand in a urine specimen, the urine sample bottle needs (name and nhs no) to be written it. She said she cannot touch the urine specimen and wants my husband to write it himself. She had gloves on and handling all the blood product taken at that time and was filling the request form. I asked her for her name she asked me why. Her behaviour was totally unprofessional. All clinical staff should have name badge, clinically qualified to carry out clinical duties including venipucture for Blood test. I am qualified registered nurse, I have never meet any staff with such attitude.

Review titled Worst Blood Test Ever
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by toulon - Posted on 06 November 2023
The blood test lets this unit down. Here for a check up and had a blood test as part of it. Been having blood test for 30 years all over London and never an issue. Toing and froing and so painful in the end. I should have told her to stop. Now I’ve a sore arm and a black bruise. Never ever again. People who can’t do a procedure - should not do it. The rest of the appointment was ok but this left me sore and uncomfortable.

Review titled Rude staff
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Katie - Posted on 04 October 2023
I arrived at the Urgent Care Centre and unfortunately they were full for the evening but the sign said you could speak to the nurse about alternative treatment options. I approached the receptionist to ask about this who immediately cut me off and directed me to a staff member speaking to some people. I waited for my turn and then when I tried to speak to the nurse she was incredible rude, dismissive and patronising. I tried to ask her for treatment tips and that someone aggravated her. At one point she went "I'm not being sarcastic but" as I pleaded with her to help me figure out how, when and where I could be seen by a doctor. I left in tears. One of the worst medical interactions I've ever had.

Review titled unworkable outpatient collaborations
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 September 2023
My elderly mother seemed to have had an appointment this morning and I phoned to confirm but say she would be a bit late. She lives quite far away and wheelchair transport has to be organized. I have health power of attorney I made many phonecalls from 9am onward often no answer. Options did not mention the department I wanted. Eventually I got to a person who suggested a different number, turned out to be a wrong department. Could not tell me more but suggested uclh ophthalmology. It tried but they said my mother not listed. I called Royal Free and was number 43 in the queue. Am still waiting. My mothers appointment is (was) at Finchley Memorial, but your arrangements mean no one there knows about it or can take calls about it. The trust absolutely must make an arrangement that is userfriendly. This is unworkable for patients, creates additional workload for many staff, and ca certainly cause substandard care. I would like to be able to provide useful information for others in this situation but so far have none. i had to remove the word Uclh in capitals because your algorithm will not allow words with all capitals!

Review titled Ultrasound Appointment
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I had an appointment 15/09/23 @ 9.40am I was 10mins late, the gentleman at Reception said he would enquire if I could be seen. He came back saying I would be seen but the radiographer wasn't happy. I waited to be called & upon entering I was told: "You are late for your appointment but I will see you" The nurse was very polite who was in the room as well. I felt taken aback by the hostile attitude. I was told to lay on the bed I went to the bottom of the bed & was spoken to by the radiographer "Why are you trying to make things difficult, come a bit closer?!" More hostility: As a patient, if this is the attitude when someone is late then do not see the person or slot them in later. I have been on time infact early for appointments & have had to wait 15-30mins this is in general not specifically at Finchley Memorial, I think it works both ways. I've always had good experiences over the years at Finchley Memorial so was a bit disappointed today. Thank you

Review titled Excellent walk-in service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 August 2023
I visited this hospital’s walk-in service to receive treatment and advice for my unbearable shoulder pain as my GP was unavailable. The reception team were very welcoming and I was triaged swiftly. The person who saw me was fantastic, they took the time to really listen to me about my pain and review my injury, offered advice and sought to chase-up my treatment with my GP. I really appreciated the personal level of professional care I received. I really felt they did everything they could for me. I only wish I could do more to show my appreciation to the member of staff who saw me other than offering my sincere thanks. I strongly recommend this service (as appropriate).

Review titled Rude and unprofessional receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 August 2023
I had a terrible experience with a rude receptionist at the blood test desk who cancelled my appointment and said she couldn’t help me with my blood test forms. It was so difficult to arrange an appointment in the first place and to have it cancelled prevented me from getting the care that I needed, and has ultimately delayed my treatment. Disappointing that our healthcare data is handled by individuals like this - I feel bad for elderly/disabled people who end up not getting the care they need because of unprofessional people like this who don't care about the patients.

Review titled Terrible treatment in Phlebotomy appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 August 2023
Dismissive, unhelpful, patronising and rude staff on reception and taking bloods in the Phlebotomy department. We were on site for two hours and no bloods taken for my mother in her 70s with lymphoma. Staff were not looking for a solution, they were not succinct about what the problem was. They proceeded to patronise me and keep us hanging around with no intention of seeing us.

Review titled Stealth car parking charges
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 August 2023
I visited the drop-in on a Saturday afternoon because my son was unwell. I drove in and saw the sign for 'patient parking only' - as he was a patient, we parked there and quickly went in. I'm shocked now that I have received a 'penalty charge notice' from a private parking company for £85!! I have parked here before with no trouble, the signage is not clear at the entrance and I saw nothing asking 'have you paid' on exit. No barriers, nothing to prevent you from accessing or exiting if you have not paid, but a penalty in the post.
