I had to have CT scan arrived early was seen straight away. All the staff I had contact with were very helpful and polite. Informed all through the scan as to what was to happen and asked if I was in any discomfort and they would stop. Cannot fault the hospital or staff.

Review titled Went for a CT Scan
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by John O’Grady - Posted on 10 July 2023
First time attending this hospital for a CT scan. Arrived, lots of parking spaces available, used the table to register my car reg for parking permission. Lovely environment, walked into reception was welcomed by the main receptionist who checked to make sure that I had registered my car before directing me to the CT scan checking in desk. Again welcomed by several ladies ( I was the first appointment ) so they knew who I was and used my name! Again directed to the waiting area, it was lovely, so clean, not looking tired like many other hospitals. Was called by a nurse and we chatted as we walked done to the room that houses the scanner, again, very clean, modern looking room with what looked like a state of the art scanner. All the nurses in the room were so helpful and looked happy in their working environment. Was in & out back in my car after 35 minutes. Just wanted to say thank you for my lovely experience this morning and hope that going forward other hospitals end up looking & providing professional and friendly service like I received today at the Finchley Memorial Hospital.

Review titled In and out within 30 minutes. Had Blood test and X-ray.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Gary W - Posted on 17 July 2023
I'm delighted to report how efficient Finchley Memorial Hospital was this morning. I was asked by my GP on Thursday to undertake blood tests and have an X-ray. I was able to book the blood test appointment for Monday and it took place exactly in the time window booked. Then went around to Walk-In X-ray department and was seen within minutes. All in all, I was in and out of Finchley Memorial Hospital within 30 minutes of arrival! Very impressive. Thank you NHS!

Review titled Excellent breast screening service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by A Rose - Posted on 02 June 2023
I attended for a routine mammogram today (1.45pm on 2/6/23) and wanted to send a positive review. The person who undertook the mammogram was efficient, helpful and personable. This helped to make an uncomfortable but essential screening bearable. Thank you for your help and efficient service.

Review titled Post Op- check
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I recently had a total hip replacement upon discharge from hospital I was advised to visit my GP to have the wound checked and the clips removed. I was very disappointed to discover that very few practises in Barnet provide that service and I was told to go Finchley Memorial. I had to wait nearly 4 hours to be seen by a lovely nurse who was very apologetic about the wait. Sitting on those hard, low chairs was difficult to say the least. I was worried if I went for a tea or visited the restroom I would lose my place in the queue. You’re supposed to tell the receptionist if you do but quite frankly she was quite a foreboding character, didn’t seem to have much empathy with the majority of people. During my wait I witnessed two altercations with patients relatives, who were threatened with security and one person was removed from the waiting room. I really think the receptionist escalated the problem instead of trying to diffuse the situation and I speak as an ex NHS receptionist. Also why can’t post op procedures be given appointments like physiotherapy, blood tests ect. A long wait after a recent operation really isn’t ideal.

Review titled Breast screening
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I am very satisfied by the experience. I found the way of handling patients was very organised, the test was quick and results arrived in one week. I was concerned since was my first screening that it would have a long screening and painful instead it was manageable and I was well guided through it.

In for re-hab following a new Half-hip replacement at Royal Free, repair for damage caused by fall at home. All nursing excellent; the re-hab Physios even better: Daily workouts, supervised, targets explained; even a Home Visit to ensure facilities are suitable for continued re-hab. Food choices very good. We are exceedingly lucky to have access to this great Hospital.

Review titled Parking
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited the Hospital with my wife on the 10th May 23, whom was having treatment. I registered my car registration number on the hospital parking machine as required and have today, Friday 25th May 2023, received a parking charge notice. Has this happened to other users of the car park recently, as clearly the system does not appear to be registering all vehicles? I am of course appealing.

Review titled Blood test
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Pamela - Posted on 02 June 2023
I went to the hospital for a blood test, but upon reaching the reception, I was informed by the staff that I needed a printed paper form in order to proceed. I explained that I didn't have a printed form and wasn't sure where to obtain one. I asked if there was any way to print the form, but the staff member didn't have an answer. She explicitly stated that if I didn't have the paper within 10 minutes, they wouldn't be able to accommodate me for the test. Frankly, it's quite disheartening that in 2023, a time when we should be striving to reduce waste and enhance convenience, I'm being required to have a printed form just to get a blood test. Additionally, it's hard to comprehend how a hospital could enforce such a policy that denies people their necessary medical tests. It's truly baffling.
