  1. Review titled Doctors professional & superb Nursing Staff-ENT:Out-Patients

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 September 2023

I cannot thank you enough for the superb care I received in the ENT Out-patient department at the Freeman. I do actually think the doctors there may have saved my life. From the moment I walked in I was confident in the staff. Exceptionally well greeted by the front desk. SHO and Registrar both took enormous care in looking at me and prescribed what I think was the most appropriate treatment. Given tea and a sandwich and a pot of orange juice. The nursing staff were so polite and immaculate. Well done everybody.

  2. Review titled Smokers at every entrance cigarettes inside doorways

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 September 2023

Great nursing staff and Dr's, but sadly the grounds are a smokers paradise. I decided to walk around the hospital to get some freshair but struggled to find somewhere that did not have several people smoking outside at any entrance. There is no one enforcing the "smoke free" policy. I have seen people on three occasions smoking before they leave the hospital, cigarette butt's can be seen inside doorways. The whole situation is pointless without enforcement and fines, children have to walk past people smoking before going for treatment.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback regarding your recent experience attending the Freeman Hospital. We are pleased that you found all of the staff great but we are sorry to hear your feedback related to smoking on site. As you will be aware the Trust does have a smoke and vape free policy which should be adhered to by all patients, staff and visitors. We do have regular communications to remind all visitors to the grounds about the policy and will continue to raise awareness of the smoke free rule. If you wish to raise your concerns with someone who is not involved in your care, the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) can help sort out problems quickly and can be contacted on Freephone 0800 032 02 02 or by email on northoftynepals@nhct.nhs.uk.

I’ve been in the ENT dept for the past few days on an emergency admission, during this time I’ve been more than impressed by the attitude, professionalism, and work ethics of the entire team. Nothing has been any trouble for them at any time of the day. A great job by great people, I’d like to say a big thank you to them all.

  6. Review titled Well looked after

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Andrew R Helme - Posted on 16 September 2023

Went in on a Thursday for a lower lung removal due to cancer. Was operated on the next day and I was home by the following Tuesday. From medical, nursing, domestic and student all the staff were fantastic. Cheerful, professional, attentive and caring. It made the whole surreal experience of a hospital operation and stay a lot easier.

  8. Review titled Amazing

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Samantha bass - Posted on 17 April 2023

This is from my dad and my family. My dad michael bass is currently on ward 9 at freeman hospital and is on going rehabilitation from his stroke he had in January this year. Could I just say how amazing the physiotherapist and occupational therapist have been, they have brought my dad back from the brink of death, they have taught him how to live again, how to adapt and they have helped him from being bed bound to hoisted to being able to step transfer which us as a family and the doctors thought would be impossible due to the severity of his stroke. My dad is becoming more independent and more confident with the help of the amazing staff. This physio and OT department in our eyes are the most important people. Undervalued and are always behind the scenes but do the most important work. From the bottom of our hearts thank you, thank you for all your amazing dedication to your job without you this would be a very sad world. Thank you for giving my dad his life back and thank you for just being you. We can not get over the progress he has made and none of this would be possible without you. Not all hero’s wear capes.

  10. Review titled Wonderful Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anne Seifipour - Posted on 23 April 2023

I wish I could leave 10 stars for these wonderful people in Ward 10 who created a positive, caring, professional environment for all patients in their care. I felt very safe in their hands & in no doubt I was receiving the best care I possibly could. Everything was explained clearly. Every member of staff always had time to answer questions. If an individual couldn't answer it they would get someone who could, always giving you their time. I was never patronised which is very important as you are getting older. It was un uplifting experience being there created by the top notch staff which must speed up recovery. The food was very good too! Thank you all!
