  1. Review titled Excellent staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nicholle Sales - Posted on 01 February 2023

My ENT surgeon and anaesthetist were both incredibly reassuring, welcoming, kind and patient. The nursing staff on ward 10 were so polite and comforting and I am so grateful for their time and work with me today.

Had a stay of almost a week in ward 16. All the staff there were fantastic and looked after me. Can’t speak anymore highly of the care and attention they give. Angels every single one.

  3. Review titled No calls are ever returned

    by Scorpio47 - Posted on 03 March 2023

Recently through doctor's secretary I have supplied two telephone numbers and on numerous occasions have been told that contact couldn’t be made. First a landline was supplied then a mobile. I have had the same numbers for years and have received hundreds of calls with no one complaining they couldn’t reach me. I have had no trouble phoning the hospital to say yet again another phone appointment has not been kept but evidently, the radio waves from the hospital to my home in North Heaton don’t work as well. When I challenged them to phone my number as soon as I put the phone down they refused. Last year before a holiday I phoned on numerous occasions for information which at the time was important to me. No calls were ever returned. As a heart patient it makes you feel not just vulnerable but isolated as well. Do I believe them over the phone calls? Well let me put it like this. I feel like the teacher who asks for the pupil's homework and is told the dog ate it!

  4. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by ROBERT WILLIAM RENNISON - Posted on 08 January 2023

Admitted on 2nd for TAVI I can only applaud the full team connected with the operation. In addition the 2 ward nurses on the day of the op were excellent and this should be recognised; particularly since another patient at the same time was continuously rude and abusive to them and about all aspects of the Hospital as well as using fould language.

  6. Review titled Brilliant care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lisa McAdam - Posted on 25 January 2023

As much as I hate hospitals, the was one of the least stressful experiences I have had. All the staff were friendly, professional and understanding. They were really human and treated me as such. My consultant sat with me and my mum and together, we made a decision on the procedure. He listened and understood our concerns and changed the plan for the day. He was amazing! Even during the procedure, he took the time to ask if I was ok and to reassure me that I was doing well. Everyone on the ward commented on the friendliness of the staff and honestly felt better for having the extra attention they were given. The ward was peaceful and stress free. Unlike other hospitals, phones were answered on the first ring, rather than being ignored and left to ring until the caller gave up and hung up. I honestly cannot rate the staff high enough.

  9. Review titled Urology deserve recognition

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Hayley Carroll - Posted on 20 December 2022

I have spent 2022 in emergency admissions and several wards for urology, these departments have treat me with real care, when other pathways have become difficult the freeman urology department have picked up my care & took real notice of my needs. They've fought for me & allowed me to confidently advocate for my needs, a lot of people forget staff are there for the patient, not themselves & these departments really gave me faith in that. It can be embarrassing to attend a department so much they recognise you but urology have made this the opposite for me, I feel like every visit all staff members have made sure to at least attempt to further plans of care for my quality of life. For so much, thank you.

  10. Review titled Catheter ablation at the Freeman

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Alan M - Posted on 07 November 2022

I had a catheter ablation and Electrophysiology study done on the 2nd November. I stayed on Ward 27 for a couple of nights and was well looked after by all of the nurses and support staff. The study and ablation was completed by one of the specialist Cardiologist’ who was assisted by a fab team in the cath lab, they put me at ease and answered all of my questions. All staff from my pre-op and procedure were all very friendly and professional. A credit to the hospital
