  2. Review titled Kind and compassionate staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lucy Hall - Posted on 14 March 2023

I presented to A&E today as I was having a miscarriage. Everyone I came into contact with today was kind, compassionate and made an effort to make a very traumatic experience for me a little easier. In particular, the two A&E nurses who looked after me and the staff in the EPU. I am so grateful for the care I received. Thank you so much.

  4. Review titled Lovely and caring staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Amber - Posted on 25 March 2023

Whilst staying on the Antenatal Ward I was treated with such care and compassion. Staff members made sure to introduce themselves as well as informing me on what to expect for the day time routine. Even when the ward was busy, all staff ensured people’s needs were attended to whilst remaining a positive attitude. I definitely chose the right hospital for my pregnancy journey.

  5. Review titled Great Maternity Team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jasmine - Posted on 25 April 2023

Frimley Park had an absolute amazing maternity team all the way from my booking appt to the delivery of my son. They were extremely helpful all the way through and very accommodating to my needs (moving house midway through and completely being in a new county). The midwives work so hard to give us the best experience and they really did. Very well informed throughout my induction followed by great staff throughout a horrible labour and a lovely postnatal team, when my partner had to leave after visiting hours were over in the post natal ward- they offered to look after my little one so I could get some sleep. Thank you so much for your care throughout the 41 weeks!

  6. Review titled Hip replacement

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Andrew Joslyn - Posted on 09 April 2023

A service to be proud of, from Pre op, very attentive and profession then on to the theatre. The team put me at ease and off to sleep, a fantastic job was done, I would like to thank the team for their hard work. I was kept in recovery for around 9 hours with minor complications, I believe I got the best 2 nurses for my duration. Both nurses stayed by my side the whole time. I found both on facebook and thanked them personally. I was then transferred to f5 and onto f6 all the staff were attentive I was treated with dignity and respect the whole time, what more could you ask. Finally a big thank you to the physio team, I was caught wandering with my frame, so I was fast tracked and discharged within 4 hours. So a big thank you to all involved in my care, its a pity I cannot name names.

  7. Review titled Horrendous treatment on f9 ward

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sally Hodgkinson - Posted on 25 March 2023

My 22 year old daughter has been in hospital for 3 days in horrendous pain; a very high temperature; very low blood pressure and keeps passing out. She has been told for the last three days that she needs a scan and an ultrasound, but still waiting. She is deteriorating quite quickly and despite asking repeatedly to see a doctor, no one has been to see her. I am refusing to leave the hospital now until someone does. It is appalling

  8. Review titled AF in A&E

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Roger Sharp - Posted on 17 February 2023

I arrived via ambulance on blue lights at lunchtime. The paramedics told me exactly what to expect and they were spot on. I was greeted by the A&E team, who despite being under pressure from all corners, were kind, polite, efficient and ‘to the point’. Each of them knowing their role and fulfilling it to the max. I was monitored and cared for in A&E for approx 11hrs before being allocated a bed. All the while being constantly told how my condition was being treated and what was happening. They also took the time to inform my wife of proceedings as well. As requested, no names will be mentioned but if you were on the a&E team on st Valentine’s Day afternoon, working away on my AF, then I thank you with all my heart (which is still working) if you were on the team then I hope this finds its way to you because you deserve it. An extension of this thanks also goes out to the paramedics before the event and the aftercare received after A&E in the CCU. Many thanks to you all.

  9. Review titled Gobsmacked at the treatment I received.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 January 2023

I have spent a lot of time in a&e in the last few months due to an ongoing heart condition which is debilitating my life. I often have agonising chest pains and blackouts. The nurse checked me quickly and was placed on a trolley in the hallway. 6 hrs later I was seen by a doctor. She greeted me by aggressively putting the bed up whilst I was asleep. It made me jump and took me a minute to wake up and she kept telling me to hurry up. Long and short of it she said there's nothing she can do and told me to go home and cardio will be in touch. Well that's all well and good but both of my recent telephone appts never happened. Nobody called. Her response was 'well that's not my problem they were busy.' I'm sorry but it's just not good enough. I have daily blackouts and have no quality of life. I asked if I could see someone else as I was visibly inconsolable and this caused me to have a mental health crisis. I practically begged her in tears for help. She said no, it's not her problem and 'what do you expect me to do' is what I was met with. Everyone is told to speak up when they need help, why did I have to fight so hard to get some help. No point in writing to pals as I've already got another complaint from months ago where they attempted 11 times to get a cannula in, without using fresh needles each time. I could understand if it was an emergency but this was 3 hours after I was admitted but that's another story. Due to what I'm going through I had a breakdown in a&e and asked to speak to the psych team. The rude doctor said 'it's a long wait just go home' great. Thanks for the support. I asked her what do I do, where do I turn to get some help. My gp is waiting on instruction from cardio - who don't seem to ever stick to their appointments and never answer their phone. I was in crisis. Eventually the psych team saw me. And they were excellent and despite the doctor saying there's nothing they can do, they did help. Why do you have to fight so hard to get help. It's not fair. We don't want to be stuck in a corridor vulnerable with no privacy. We need help. Not to be shamed, humiliated and embarrassed by a rude doctor. Kindness costs nothing. The doctor promised cardio we're going to call me this morning. Well, as always, no phone call and no answer. I am in desperate need, I cannot work, drive, be left on my own for long in case I have a black out / seizure and no matter where I turn in frimley park I am left with constant unanswered questions, rudeness and humiliation. Not to note this all happened in a corridor for everybody to hear and see. I wasn't the only patient appalled by this doctors attitude. They may be burnt out, short staffed and stretched but to be so down right nasty is appalling. The only good thing about it are the lovely nurses who came to comfort me after this happened. The doc was wearing a bodycam so I'd love for someone to watch that and see how that doctor is treating vulnerable and sick patients. It's shameful.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your recent experience of the care provided by Frimley Health. This is a very uncomfortable review to read and the first thing to say is please accept my sincere apologies that your experience was so poor. What you describe is not the attitude, nor levels of care and service Frimley Health strives to deliver. I appreciate your comment “No point in writing to pals as I've already got another complaint from months ago” but if you want to make a formal complaint about this episode they will be treated as two separate cases. As I am sure you appreciate I am unable to discuss the specifics of the incident in this forum however please email fhft.patientexperience@nhs.net and we will pass your details to teams who will be able to investigate the matter further. I am keen that we – as a Trust – do as much as we can to rectify, as much as we can, your personal situation, and to learn from your experiences to ensure no-one else has a similar experience. 10. Review titled Amazing Staff, thank you.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jim Darling - Posted on 09 January 2023

Your Review: My wife was admitted to A and E, and what greeted us was a scene of chaos, it didn't look good. However we were calmly booked in, details taken, and asked to wait. The department was well over capacity and it seemed at some points that there were more "visitors" than patients which put a lot of stress and pressure on the staff trying to deal with the sick and injured. They performed brilliantly, completely calm and assuring. Even when a patient passed out on the floor, the rapid response and caring attitudes meant that patient was quickly assessed and moved to a treatment room without fuss or alarming anyone waiting. We were referred to the AeCU for further tests, and the care we had was exemplary. AeCU was calm, and it was immediately obvious how everyone in the department worked as a team. More like a family in fact! Despite requiring about 3 different departments to assess my wife, she was dealt with as fast as possible with minimum delay and maximum care. As was every single person that came into AeCU. My wifes nurse, was just fantastic. Reassuring, understanding, listening. Our receptionist must also be called out for making sure the hospital records and systems were up to date in full, and for the VeRY welcome cup of tea she made us both! This hospital is a shining example of why we need to support our NHS, and the people who work in it. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for all you did, my wife is now well again, we are so grateful.
