  1. Review titled Caring health care professional

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 April 2024

I attended a Sunday morning appointment on an 2 ww after my GP found a lump in my breast. The lady who took the mammogram was excellent. She was calm and caring and the mammogram was carried out with expertise. The next stop was with a lady who carried out an ultrasound, again, she was a very kind person who put me at my ease. Finally, I saw a doctor who assured me that nothing sinister had been detected. The whole process went very smoothly with minimum waiting times. I was very pleased with the care I received.

  2. Review titled Nurse was fantastic!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Thank you so much for looking after me. I have sadly had to use the service a few times in the last year and there is one nurse in particular who has been utterly fabulous each time but I can’t use names in this review 🤷‍♀️. What an absolute asset s@ndr@ is to the hospital. G@ry the dr went above and beyond for me. Really appreciate the professional care that was given to me. Especially in such difficult circumstances and clear lack of resources. Can’t thank you enough 🥰

Dear Relative Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback about Good Hope Hospital Birmingham - apologies for the slightly delayed response but there was a problem with the website that prevented us responding sooner. We are so pleased to hear about the excellent care your mother received when she attended hospital under what were clearly difficult circumstances, that staff were so polite and checked in with her so regularly. Really lovely staff, friendly and helpful- gave us a sandwich and a drink and let us know how long the wait would be for results. This was in Mau1. Coffee lady in A&E cafe also took the time to give great service when it was really busy. Thank you.

  8. Review titled Discharge experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 February 2024

My Mother in law was discharged 31/1 which led to an appalling chain of events. She was discharged with the assurance her medication would be sent on the her home address by midday the next morning. No medication arrived so we rang the numbers provided. We were still chasing the prescription at 7pm that night and I am waiting to see if it has been delivered. Every nurse we spoke said they would call me back to let me know when the prescription would be delivered, not one of them did right to the final call at 7.30pm. The patient discharged is 86 years of age and was given no discharge notes and not one member of staff had any clue to her prescription medication or when she was discharged. Her grandson rang to visit and confirm she was still there, they said yes she was there when she was not so he had a long and wasted journey. Absolutely disgusting treatment.

Our daughter was taken by ambulance to A and E following a seizure. She was upset and not easy to examine but all staff were kind and patient with her. They looked after us all really well in what was a very scary experience.

  10. Review titled Amazing care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karuna Pendleton - Posted on 15 February 2024

I had my son by c-section on the 31.01.24 and the whole team on floor 1 who delivered my baby, from the surgeon, to the anesthetist the midwife and everyone else there that day were amazing. I was so nervous and they put me at ease and made me feel reassured, I knew I was in safe hands. Thank you to all the team that helped deliver baby Henry safely, words cannot describe how grateful I am. The after care on the Labour ward (ward 5) is second to none. The midwifes and all the staff there have hearts of gold. I have great admiration for each and every one of you. The level of care and support you gave me was so valuable. I felt at my most vulnerable after having major surgery and looking after a newborn at the same time. But you all never judged me, you all looked after me and you went above and beyond in terms of the care you showed me. From emptying my catheter to words of understanding, support and compassion. No job was too big or too small, and always with a smile. Thank you so much, you are an amazing bunch of people. In the lead up to the birth, we had to have a lot of checks and scans which took place on MAC floor 4. Again all the sonographers and midwives we encountered during our pregnancy there were always so lovely.
