  1. Review titled A and E - What a chaotic shambles

Rated 1 star out of 5

A horrible experience from the rude reception staff, to having to give up and leave without treatment. The only bright side was a nice triage nurse.

  2. Review titled Felt calm and at ease

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Auguste - Posted on 03 July 2023

I had a procedure done at Miss Syed’s Hysteroscopy clinic and I have nothing else but good things to say about the staff and how smoothly everything went. I was nervous and anxious about the procedure because that was the first time I was given a local anaesthesia, but the doctor and both of her nurses made me feel so at ease that my nervousness went away as soon as I walked in. Thanks so much!

I had an x-ray of my back on about 7th June, it is now 24th July still no results and still in pain. Would love to know the SLA on imaging reports being sent to GP is.

  4. Review titled No updates from the ward

by Nisha - Posted on 09 June 2023

My mum, who is a stroke and heart patient, has been moved to Fleming ward without any update from the hospital and doctor. My mum is not able to speak, so having an update from the ward/doctor/nurse is very important. We have tried to call the number and no one has picked up at all. I have found the communication on Fleming Ward to be non existent. My mum is still there and no update and she has been in the hospital for two days.

  5. Review titled Very unpleasant experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 July 2023

The receptionist and nurses were really friendly and attentive. However, after waiting for 2-3 hours despite the bleeding situation... The way the doctor/consultant on duty could have handled our situation in a better way. She insisted that pregnancy kits sold in the supermarkets were unreliable compared to what they use in the hospital. She was not very sympathetic to our situation and made us feel delusional. She was not that knowledgeable about certain procedures and medication related to pregnancy. I was sent home with no referrals to any scans or blood tests. We were not provided any explanation about my general health and the whole situation. I had to phone my local GP and she was really helpful and had given me proper advice/referral. I just hope that other patients will not encounter or will not experience the same treatment.

  6. Review titled ECG reception

Rated 1 star out of 5

So I tried to organise an ECG about a month ago. Trying to get through to the department was absolutely difficult. Noone seems to want to pick up the phone. Always constantly ringing, I did manage to get through after about a week of calling to book. Had the ECG which I've no criticism of the procedure or the ECG staff but now chasing up the results of this and again trying to get through and nobody bothers to pick up the phone.

  7. Review titled Great customer service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I had the pleasure of speaking with Dawinder - superstar she was and so friendly and helpful. I was going back and fourth trying to sort my meds out. She went out of her way to help me get sorted, much appreciated an asset to her team. Thankyou.

  9. Review titled Couldn't fault my care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 May 2023

I was admitted to the Day Care Surgery Unit for a gynaecology procedure. I am a nervous patient but I was put at ease at every step of the way. Every member of staff I encountered (surgeon, anaesthetist, nurses) treated me like an individual, despite my surgery being fairly routine and one of many being treated that day. The staff are doing an amazing job and I hope they get recognised or that. My experience has made me a much less nervous patient and for that I am very grateful!

  10. Review titled Really skilful doctors

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 April 2023

I was admitted in April 2023 with an abdominal emergency. Junior Doctor who assessed me in the SAU was amazing and she patiently explained the likely course of events. Her boss the next day was very skilled and I felt in very good hands throughout. The wards are aging and that’s not the hospital’s fault; the newly refurbed SAU was lovely. Please ignore the CQC rating - it’s ridiculous how one word can summarise the level and intricacy of care across such a large organisation. The hospital needs our support not central government’s criticism.
