Review titled Excellent Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kim Charlton - Posted on 20 August 2023
Arrived at HRI at around 7.45pm. I was seen by the triage nurse within 5 minutes. The board stated treatment waiting times of around 2 hours; bloods were taken after about 45 minutes. Unfortunately I fainted so I was immediately taken to a cubicle to be taken care of. From start to finish every member of staff were courteous and caring, doing a great job in a very busy department. Discharged at around 2.45am having had many obs checks and a CT scan. Thank you to all.

I attended A&E due to hurting my ankle. My injury was far more serious than I expected. Resulting in an admission and surgery. I want to thank everyone from the excellent A&E staff, ward staff, theatre staff and physio's. You were all amazing and nothing was too much trouble. I was treat with dignity and respect throughout. Thank you.

Review titled Attendance on night stated
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Pat Nimmo - Posted on 24 June 2023
I arrived at 8pm. and gave details of the reason. The reception was most kind. During my stay I was referred to the Triage Staff at the times noted on the timing board, and to the Doctor at only a few minutes after the time noted. During the time I was there members of staff wheeled me to the toilets when I asked, and were most pleasant about this. Naturally the wait was rather boring, but some magazines are available. I left at approximately 01.30 Thanks to all the staff.

Review titled Cafe
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Pat Nimmo - Posted on 24 June 2023
I attended for an Xray on Monday 19th June. Afterwards I went with my Husband to the Cafe for a snack and a cup of tea. No teacups are now available and tea was serve in a disposable coffee mug. The Ham and Cheese toasted sandwiches were sloppy and tasteless, and thus vastly overpriced.

Review titled Had two amazing mental health folk today.
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Sam Taylor - Posted on 27 May 2023
I am restarting my Sertraline subscription, and I was overwhelmed by the anxiety. I had no idea how to handle it, I was just pacing up and down the flat for days! I thought it might've been something I did wrong. I went to the A&E once and while the mental health nurse was pleasant, it didn't change anything about how I was feeling. I had these two amazing nurses who pulled me aside and told me exactly what I needed to hear. They were direct and honest, but in a compassionate way and one that I needed. Since coming home I've been putting into practice the skills they said I should, and already there's been such an improvement! I'm not cured, but I can ride out the anxiety a lot better now. I didn't catch their names because I was so hysterical, but thank you both so much. I'm sure I'll have worse days again, but I feel more confident than I can handle them.

Review titled Accidents and Unpleasantries
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ryan - Posted on 18 April 2023
Whilst in a visit at the paediatric A&E, with a child struggling with their mental health, the conversations heard from the staff in another room were full of swearing, slating other staff members including mentioning methods of harming others (obviously as a joke or a way of venting, but not appropriate for young people to hear). The doctor at the time was highly unprofessional slating 111 for advising us to attend ED for mental health, and basically told the child that they will ‘get over it’ and will be fine because they had gotten through their traumatic past already. The care and respect and professionalism here is the worst I’ve seen across hospitals, and that’s coming from someone who has inspected local hospitals.

Attend A&E over 9th/10th Feb with my mother in law. The lovely staff made what was a very difficult situation from everyone's point of view as good as it could possibly be and exhibited great care, empathy and compassion. Thank you
