I was admitted to ward 500 on 28 November 2022 in a rather poorly state I was very well looked after and managed discharge on 15 December 2022. Unfortunately my discharge documents show only my admission date and I require the formal discharge date for my health insurance company. Many thanks for lokking after me so well to to hard working and dedicated staff of ward 500 and all other staff of Hull Royal Infirmary.

  5. Review titled Sent back to my GP

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 March 2024

I had an arranged phone appointment with a professor in gastro, the appointment was completed and I was informed an MRI scan will be arranged and test results checked. I recieved a letter afterwards as well as a letter sent to my GP to say I did not attend the appointment and I was put to the back of the queue. My health has worsened in the time since then. I am scared to go back there if this is their normal practice and way of helping clearly sick patients due to neglect of care. I have already complained through PALS who had a reply from management who say that I did not attend which is not true at all.

  6. Review titled Astonishing care and treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Evelyn Cuthill - Posted on 03 November 2022

I suffered a heart attack on Friday morning at 8.00am. The ambulance arrived within ten minutes. The paramedics were superb and so reassuring. They took me to Hull Royal Infirmary. There, I was diagnosed, received initial treatment and was stabilised. A cardiologist came, explained what the problem was and decided I had to go to Castle Hill for an operation. Within minutes an ambulance was available. As the ambulance arrived at Castle Hill, they were waiting for me and I was taken straight into surgery. An hour and a half later I was sitting up in Ward 28 (CMU) having a cup of tea. I still cannot believe it all happened! The care I received was quite simply outstanding and everyone who saw me was so kind, friendly and reassuring. They were also thoroughly professional. Everything was explained to me very clearly. I can only speak about all the staff in the highest possible terms. What a wonderful department it is and what remarkable people work there. How lucky we are to have you! I shall never be able to thank you enough for all you did for me. You, quite literally, saved my life.

  8. Review titled bad communication

Rated 1 star out of 5

by marychilcott - Posted on 29 October 2022

Phoned this hospital many times, I live in Spain and cannot get through to the hospital departments after being left on hold for over 10 minuets, then cut off. My mother is 93 years old and i am so worried about her. Dreadful, something should be done about this.

  9. Review titled dismal

Rated 1 star out of 5

i attended the a&e on a thursday and after 7.5 hours waiting with a hight temp and very swollen foot was told to go home and take antibiotics, saturday morning with a high fever and black toes waited another 10 hours no pain relief or even a chair to sit on i was admitted at 11pm and had surgery at 1am and lost 2 toes. what makes me so angry is the fact that 5 nurses where on mobile phones compairing face book with each other until they were shouted at by another patient. i know times are hard for staff but to be so uncaring and rude to people is discusting. i am now recovering at home after been admitted twice in 3 weeks ,massive thanks to ward 6 and 7 for the care they gave me unlike a&e. a complaint has been made regarding the a&e department from my lawyers. all the money spent on your cosmetics to the front of the hospital should of been spent on upgrading the a&e.
