Review titled Outstanding care for patients & parents
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lily - Posted on 11 November 2023
After my baby had became poorly with rsv we had a short stay on ward 10. All I can say is just how outstanding every member of staff is. Caring ,considerate and compassionate not only for the patients but also the parents. No ask was too big or small and I was always being asked if there was anything I needed. When obs needed to be done on my daughter when she was alseep the nurses where so quiet and gentle she didnt wake up once and was able to sleep through the whole thing (praise needed from a sleep deprived mum!!) Thankyou so much.

Had to attend A and E with my daughter. We experienced brilliant service, we were seen promptly without waiting a long time. Department was clean. Staff were truly amazing, they went over and above to look after us, were polite, friendly and caring. We were treated as a person not a number. Doctor was thorough and gave us time despite being extremely busy. And to finish off, whilst waiting to be seen by the doctor I was given a lovely cup of tea. Couldn't speak highly enough about the caring staff. Thank you to each and every one, and thank you NHS!

Review titled Patronising and inaccurate information
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 01 December 2023
Having been referred by my Optician to the Eye clinic. I found the reception and nursing staff helpful and friendly. Shame I can’t say the same about the totally dismissive , patronising and unhelpful consultant who made me feel I was totally wasting her time ( believe me I wouldn’t have been there by choice)! Now having read the letter which was sent to my GP, I am shocked at just how inaccurate the information around my referral and consultation is!! Making me look like I was neurotic. The letter stated I presented from casualty ( not true) , I was “extremely anxious” ( not true) concerned yes but who wouldn’t be when you can suddenly not see clearly and your Optician does urgent referral !! Apparently I asked for a second option ( again not true ) the consultant gave me a 4wk follow up, which I can and will cancel as I don’t need it. Overall , very disappointed in the dismissive manner in which I was treated and very unhappy that untruths have been written. I have worked for the NHS patient facing for over 30yrs, I pride myself on treating every patient individually and with the same level of respect, care and understanding regardless of severity of their presenting problem. Shame I wasn’t shown the same curtesy by the Consultants I saw. Costs nothing to be pleasant and reassuring. The least I expect is an accurate account of my visit. Very unimpressed , it’s no wonder patients have such little faith in the service. I don’t care how busy we are manners and kindness cost nothing!!

Review titled Not listened to
by januaryqj63 - Posted on 20 September 2023
I have been experiencing dizziness and ear issues for several months. My GP was wonderful and conscientious and had no issues in ED or the ENT emergency clinic. However, the ENT Consultant I found very uncaring and rude to my assistance dog. They didn't listen to my concerns and I feel that they won't offer answers until they get perfect ear microsuction from me. I find it extremely painful and disconcerting due to sight loss and recurrent tinnitus.

I have received excellent care from all the departments I came into contact with, I was so worried and stressed and have been treated and looked after very well. I want to thank all the Doctors and Nurses that helped me particularly in the Ambulatory Unit, they have seen me the most, all the Doctors & nursing staff have been so kind. Much appreciated, thank you.

Review titled Not great
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Most of the maternity staff were lovely and really patience and kind, the neonatal staff were absolutely amazing, not a bad word to say about them. but I over heard a maternity nurse speaking badly of me (I was behind her, she didn’t realise) I had a nurse completely refuse to help me up out of bed to go to the toilet In the middle of the night (I had an emergency c-section) she just told me I should of taken my pain medication, that was the first I’d heard of pain medication. As I was rushed into my emergency c-section my partner had to stay behind and they “forgot” about him in the room after my c-section which I thought was exactly ridiculous and they also thought this was funny…not a laughing moment at all. Some staff were honestly rude and while I completely understand there understaffed and stressed as a young first time mum they didn’t exactly make my experience a good one, honestly now petrified of pregnancy if I’m honest, and I’ve also had many bad experiences with this hospital over my lifetime. While on the other hand I’m so extremely grateful they delivered my baby safely and we’re both well, I will be try to avoid this hospital if I ever fall pregnant again

Review titled Fantastic people
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Roberta Rose - Posted on 21 August 2023
I would like to mention two ambulance drivers who went above and beyond in Yarmouth yesterday. They were very kind they were getting lunch in greggs and they kindly helped me and my family. Got to James Paggett hospital and was amazed at the efficiency and treatment I got. I had an X-ray which determined I had two breaks on my wrist. The guy who fixed me up was very kind too was very clear as to what we had to do next. From booking in to leaving I can’t tell you how although I’m in a lot of pain they were all brilliant. Thank you all so much

Review titled Unbelievably excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Tommy Bennett - Posted on 14 August 2023
This group of people are an absolute asset to the hospital, from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. there were complications which were explained well to both me and my partner, which eased both our minds, the kindness and care we both experienced was amazing, words can’t describe what I owe and how I feel about the delivery suite and maternity ward, they went above and beyond to look after my partner, when she experienced a bad bleed I have never seen so many people rush to the aid of another, it was truly inspiring, thank you to all of you, I hope you all have wonderful lives and get everything you want from it, your all wonderful, kind and amazing people, thank you will never be enough, but it will have to do, thank you so much
