  1. Review titled National Health ???

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Gail Christy - Posted on 02 November 2022

Consultant Appointments postponed many times. My August appointment was moved yet again because there was a 3 month wait for a scan. Date given 25th November. The scan happened on 29th October. Today, 3rd November, I am told the Consultant's appointment has been moved to 29th June 2023. I have fallen 3 times during the last 6 weeks due to instability after a back operation; I could quite possibly be dead by June 2023. What National Health?

I had several appointments in the breast care clinic following a recall after my routine mammogram, on each occasion for different procedures I received exemplary care. Every single member of staff was professional, caring, considerate and just all round lovely, making a stressful time so much easier. Thank you all.

  4. Review titled Caring and efficient

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I sustained a blow to the head, and was unconcious for a time. My local practice did initial tests, and due to my age (75) referred me to A&E at KGH. I was there for several hours, and given triage, a CT scan and Xrays. The staff were excellent. I was due to fly a few days later, and the young Doctor reviewed it all. and gave me the 'thumbs up' to do so. Thanks to everyone.

  5. Review titled Exemplary care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a minor operation performed in the Day Case Unit of The Treatment Centre on 22nd September (last month). The doctor performing the procedure was excellent. He was professional and showed care and compassion towards me before, during and after the procedure. I won't state his name due to confidentiality. The aftercare was exemplary too. All of the staff in the operating room were brilliant as were all of the staff who dealt with me after the procedure. Thankyou very much to you all.

We recently attended an allergy test for our 18month old at the childrens outpatients, not normally one to leave reviews but the care could not have been better! From the minute we got there our little girl was the centre of attention and staff were occupying and playing with her in between treatments, she didn’t want to leave! Thankyou!

  8. Review titled wonderful service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by David Mundy - Posted on 02 August 2022

attended pre-op assessment and was called for a drive-in swabbing for Covid 19 the day before the procedure to remove cataract. This went smoothly. On the day of my admission to Spencer Ward as a day patient I arrived at 07.30 and underwent the data collection stage without issue. I was prepared for the procedure with pupil-dilating eyedrops and transferred to a well-appointed waiting room. I was offered tea or coffee but preferred to wait till the operation had been completed. All staff were courteous, considerate, welcoming and professional and the procedure itself was my second experience of eye surgery in this department. Standards are high and at no stage did I feel anxious or concerned. It is reassuring to feel one is in safe hands. I am full of admiration for all those working in this ward because they are doing life-transforming work and restoring not only one's vision but enabling one to have a much better quality of life. i admire and respect everyone I met and send my heartfelt thanks to those involved in this first class health service. I am enormously grateful to you.

  9. Review titled Carnage

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 August 2022

I attended A&E on a Monday afternoon August with acute migraine, dehydration and nausea. It was like carnage in there. I had to sit on the floor for hours without anyone telling me when I would be seen. I felt much worse for attending A&E so left without treatment after 4 hours. They showed more interest in me after I left, ringing my husband twice to ask where I was and why I left. No communication at all whilst I was there. It is crying out for more volunteers to help marshal patients and felt very overwhelming. Not a good environment to be in if you are severely ill - very hot, no air con or fans, very noisy with lots of noise and shouting

  10. Review titled Great Unit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 August 2022

I received extremely competent, speedy treatment today when I was booked in for an Echocardiogram and ECG. The person who gave me the Echocardiogram recognised my disability and decided to give me the ECG in the same room immediately following the first procedure. This meant I only had to take my clothes off once and we were in a out of the hospital in just over 30 minutes. I can't thank the staff enough, for their pleasant and efficient manner over the procedures. The unit was a new one and was spotlessly clean with up to date equipment. Thank you KGH-Cardiology
