  1. Review titled Excellent Maternity Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anna - Posted on 24 January 2023

Thank you to the maternity services at Kings (antenatal, labour and postnatal wards). Every single member of staff (midwives and doctors) that we worked with, was kind, positive and knowledgable. I always felt like I was in good hands.

  2. Review titled No Mask wearing

Rated 2 stars out of 5

When Flu and Covid cases are rising why oh why are no patients waiting for their blood test being asked to wear a mask. The brilliant Plebotomy staff wear masks! As someone that is immunosuppressed I can't believe the coughing and sneezing in the waiting area. Surely someone should taking decisive action please.

I just wanted to say thank you to the Nurses and Doctors at the surgical ambulatory care unit for my treatment today. I get anxious in clinical environments, and I was made to feel relaxed and well looked after and was treated with professionalism, respect, and dignity. All the best.

  4. Review titled Accident & Emergency

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Karen - Posted on 27 November 2022

We arrived at 7pm on Saturday night for a suspected stroke. The ambulance had not arrived after two hours so I cancelled it and drove my father instead. The department was very busy but the staff were lovely & very helpful and caring. Yes we were there an awful long time but the staff work so hard, the waiting room was full constantly. They have the patience of saints, my father received very good care in a very challenging environment. My thanks to all of the staff, you deserve so much more respect and recognition.

The care I received at the A&E department during my last visit was excellent. I was treated with empathy and attention. The department was busy but I was seen promptly and efficiently. Thanks to all doctors and nurses.

  6. Review titled Efficient and Caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was very apprehensive about coming to the emergency unit of the hospital to address breathing issues I was having as a result of a respiratory infection ( non covid). When I did arrive, the greeter, the triage nurse and then the nurse in emergency were warm, caring and efficient and I am grateful to them to all. Thank you for your kindness

  7. Review titled Urgent Treatment Centre accessibility issues

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Christine - Posted on 28 October 2022

This is officially a "walk-in" centre - so if you if you can't walk (eg. a leg injury) you will have great difficulty accessing it without assistance! I had phoned 111 for advice and been given a "turn-up" time at King's Urgent Treatment Centre. I had tried to check the exact location and accessibility of the department online, but the hospital map does not show the department, entrance, or drop-off points. The statement “We also run an Urgent Treatment Centre at King’s College Hospital” is not very helpful. We drove to the main A&E entrance in Denmark Hill where we were told by an ambulance driver that our entry was “round the corner” in Bessemer Road. There we spotted a possible unlabelled entrance to the Emergency Department up a flight of steps - but there was nowhere to stop the car. The drop-off points 100m away outside Hambledon Wing were limited to 10 minutes, but I could not walk this far. So I was driven back to the flight of steps and dragged myself up them into the Urgent Treatment Centre department in hope. No wheelchairs. No handrails. No seats beyond a handful by the entrance door. No-one to advise. You’re on your own. There were two check-in desks: one was for 111 caller appointments; the other drop-in. A “standing queue” was waiting for the latter. By the time I managed to struggle into the department my "turn-up" time had passed and I was referred to the “standing queue”. I burst into tears and phoned to be taken home. This rather critical department of KCH has multiple accessibility issues. These comments may sound like a complaint, but in reality are a. a warning to other people intending to visit the Urgent Treatment Centre that there are access issues b. an appeal to KCH to think about the needs of your patients and do something about it!

  8. Review titled Not very good

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Iam an inpatient having test and treatment the staff are ok I have found that the stuff don't really tell you what is going on have not changed the bedding for 3 days have not seen a cleaner cleaning the ward staff do not ask if you would like a drink or any food you just get your breakfast lunch and tea and nothing else through out the day like other hospitals do it takes ages to take the food and plates away from the table I asked for a drink the other day and didn't get anything till the next morning I don't think I would recommend people or family to come to the hospital iam great full that they are trying to find out what is wrong with but other things are not good at all the staff do help people but in general I think it should be cleaned every day the food needs to changed and offed more drinks and you never get a menu to what you want to eat and even then they get the dinners wrong

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited critic care unit b to visit someone. On my way the hospital was surprisingly quiet and calm. People gave me their time to show me where to go and walked with me. Everyone was kind and helpful in a good mood and patient. It was super clean and well designed And when I phoned everyone I spoke to was kind and generous and helpful. I didn't have to wait on hold too long either. Thank you. So much

  10. Review titled Fantastic service from entering to leaving

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 August 2022

Arrived very early due to tube strike and avoiding traffic for cardiac test . Spent a couple of hours at the hospital . Friendly efficient staff , from the ladies in Costa , man directing me , cardiac receptionists and clinician who fitted ECG . No doubt many staff had struggled to make it here today but here they were smiling and helpful . Thanks
