  1. Review titled Outstanding surgeon

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Androulla Veliotou - Posted on 21 February 2024

I was operated on 8/2 after being transferred to Astor Ward via A&E in what was to be an easy cholecystectomy. As it turned out, it was a highly complex laparoscopic procedure. I had no idea how it went until the surgeon came by in person the next day. I was overwhelmed to find out that the procedure hadn't been straightforward and in fact, a slightly less experienced and skilled laparoscopic surgeon would have opted for open surgery or worse... Instead, this talented surgeon, that Kingston Hospital is truly lucky to have, at the end of a long day, and having been in surgery for many hours the previous day too, kept his nerve and dealt with and completed my procedure with an advanced clean laparoscopic outcome. This outcome allowed me to avail of my strength to make a full recovery with no disruption to my personal or professional life. Every day I feel more and more humbled and appreciative of the enormous dedication of this outstanding surgeon. I also need to mention that he is assisted by a very talented team, and that this surgical ensemble is cutting through procedures at a tremendous rate, bringing relief to so many women. I should mention the personable and talented anaesthetists who attended to me. I take a moment to mention the day team of nurses and the sister, a meticulous hard-working person, who besides having to concentrate on her own tasks is also training the next generation. Shout out to care assistants, rushed off their feet but with a strong sense of humour... no situation too gross! Thank you to the night nurse for that lovely cup of tea after surgery and for the angel who was there when I woke up in the recovery room. Thank you to the awesome controller for removing my drip and discharging me.

  2. Review titled There are no words

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Medical analysis of my condition was minimal. I remain very unwell. I might as well have not bothered to go to any doctor at all as I ended up in agony in teddington walk in clinic after seeing kingstons experts. Well at least they got me off their waiting list double quick so their stats look good.

  4. Review titled Excellent staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Every member of staff that treated me was incredibly kind and communicative. Despite the usual crammed NHS A&E, staff were considerate, thorough and listened carefully to everything I said. These people/the NHS deserve so much better.

  6. Review titled Very poor care

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had an colonoscopy at endoscopy department to find out what’s wrong with me. I had gas and air so I can go home after. Everything was okay until they brought me back to my room. I was feeling dizzy and vas really sick I was too ill to even open my eyes. Nurses kept urging me to get dressed, another one comes in after 5min later and says you can go once you are dressed, 5 minutes later another nurse says you are discharged you can go now, all the while I am sick in a bowl and too ill to move. This went on at least an hour or so I think not sure. In the end I felt so uncomfortable with the treatment I got dressed and left once outside I was sick again called a taxi, I told him I didn’t feel well and I might be sick in his car , he was marvellous he gave me a bag to be sick in and started the half a mile journey home. As I thought I was sick again in the car in the bag but saved his car thankfully. I went in the house and lay down on the floor in the hallway by the front door, sick again then at last I slept. I woke up later absolutely freezing cold. Had my shower went to bed and slept 14 hours. I will never forget my treatment at the hands of the nurses at Kingston hospital Endoscopy department.

Consultant very friendly & kind. He put a tube down my nose to have a look at my voice box as I’ve been having a problem with my voice which luckily for me, he said appears to be ok. He arranged a throat scan to make sure. Hopefully everything is ok.

  9. Review titled Terrible customer service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 November 2023

A lady I spoke to earlier on +44 20 8546 7711 was extremely rude and abrupt. They was not willing to check my records to let me know what my appointment was for and said she will cancel it as I was unsure, whilst not letting me speak. Then called back a few minutes later to tell me. I understand the nhs is under a lot of pressure but this made me feel extremely anxious and I do not feel anyone should feel this way when speaking to someone. Kind regards

Cannot fault the way my daughter was received by the children's A&E and then onto the Sunshine Ward. All staff were very professional, caring and sympathetic.
