Review titled Refused access to medical appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 October 2023
Neurology triaged my referral based on the extensive referral notes sent by my GP and they opted to diagnose me with Functional Neurological Disorder without even seeing me and then refused to see me. I have had to ask my GP to refer to another NHS Trust who have agreed to see me no problem and I have an appointment next month too. Worrying practices here at Leeds neurology and questions will be asked.

Review titled Every single member of staff is wonderful, kind and caring
by Leanne15 - Posted on 10 August 2023
I attended Leeds General Infirmary ward L26 . The appointment wasn't expected but from the very first call inviting me in, I was offered full care and support . I have a huge hospital phobia and was even told where to go to get some air should I need it. Every single member of staff is wonderful, kind and caring. I have sleep apnea and lots of checks were put in place before my anaesthetic and each one explained to me. My care was outstanding, the ward very clean and I was surrounded by smiley faces everywhere. It seemed like some people were training, and their care to me was fab as was the help they received. Thank you.

Review titled The A and E team were fantastic. Mental health bad
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 August 2023
I tried to end my life but hanged my mind because I didn't want to upset my family. I cptsd. The A& East team were lovely to me. They were understanding and comforting to me. One gentleman nurse evenot gave me chocolate cake and grapes to make me feel better. The doctor saw me in 8 minutes flat! Wonderful and the nurse so lovely. However I waited almost 12 hours for the mental health teams and when they met me they said you've been waiting all this time for us what do you want out of us? What do I want from you? Do your job would be a good start. The mental health teams in this country are a mess I'm utterly appalled by the total lack of support. I'm still in shock at how rubbish they were. Jesus

Review titled Cardiac surgery
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended Leeds Jubilee Wing, Ward 16 for a replacement aortic valve on 24 July. All the staff were professional, informative and reassuring throughout the week I spent in hospital. I had complete confidence in my surgeon and the following nursing care was exemplary. Open heart surgery brings with it some discomfort. This was well controlled and my recovery has progressed well. Thank you Ward 16 Staff, you have surely extended my life!

Review titled Grateful thanks to the reception/admin staff
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Mrs Rita Mary Laurence - Posted on 01 July 2023
Whilst waiting as per my appointment, for what turned out to be 2.5+hrs with no access to water, to be seen by a consultant I became quite unwell/dehydrated. Thank heavens for the receptionist on duty, who having seen my distress, came to my aid and arranged a drink of water for me. Her caring and considerate actions enabled to continue to remain on the dep't awaiting my appointment. I can appreciate that sometimes patients may have to wait to be seen but a 2.5+hrs wait for a brief and rushed 15min consultation seems excessive even in these difficult times. Additionally, having access to drinking water on the cardiac outpatients dep't would be appreciated particularly in such warm temperatures. Thank you.

Review titled Had bloods drawn in waiting area
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 June 2023
I was admitted via ambulance with chronic dizziness and sickness unable to sit up etc. I was left in a corner in the trauma unit for some time. My partner was unable to be with me he had to wait outside. After over 2 hours a nurse came to take my obs I asked for a trolley because I needed to lay down to ease my symptoms. None available. A drunk man came in and he got one right away. In order to be with my partner I was wheeled into the normal waiting area which was crowded. A nurse then came to draw my blood in the waiting area. Surrounded by lots of people. My veins kept collapsing there was blood all over the floor. I was in a total of 9 hours. Sent home feeling exactly the same with a referral. Do not use this hospital.

Review titled Excellent service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Hannah Spalding - Posted on 19 May 2023
I am currently under the care of 2 plastic surgeons at LGI. l want to express how l have personally experienced a service just over and beyond my expectations. Firstly both their secretaries are such a credit to the service. They communicate so well in a very friendly but professional manner. They follow through with actions, returning calls which have truly helped allay my anxieties. Furthermore an example asking one of the consultants of their recommendations around sunscreen and emailing me the information gathered. This is far beyond their expected role, you truly are a very kind and caring person. Both consultants have been extremely approachable, personable and human. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of you for the excellent care l am receiving, l have never experienced such great care anywhere to this degree before, such first hand care. Well done you are all so much appreciated an excellent example of first-class care.
