  1. Review titled Highly recommend

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tom Montgomery - Posted on 02 June 2024

I was highly impressed with my visit to Leicester Royal Infirmary. Arriving at 2 pm, I went through triage, x-rays, and received a diagnosis within three hours, with a practitioner with initials Lg. handling the diagnosis and displaying excellent bedside manner. After tearing my Acl, I had many questions about recovery, and she patiently explained everything thoroughly. I am very grateful for the entire team's help, especially Lg, on Saturday 2 June.

  2. Review titled Friendly caring team and efficient diagnosis and treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Suzanne Wall - Posted on 04 May 2024

Sent to Eye Casualty yesterday by my GP. Everyone I met was friendly, clear and helpful. The nurse who examined my eye was kind, gentle and reassuring, gaining a second opinion before full diagnosis. I left 2 hours later, feeling cared for. To receive a follow -up appointment this morning for a week's time was an added boost and conveyed thoroughness of practice. Credit and thanks for excellent standards of care and treatment.

  5. Review titled Thank you for such excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 May 2024

My husband (nearly 76 years old) was advised by Loughborough Walk-in Centre to attend LRI for heart checks and arrived at 9pm Thursday 2nd May. His condition was not acute, although needed this to be confirmed because of his current health problems. The A & E department was packed and the flow of patients thoroughout the night was relentless. My husband had all the necessary tests and we eventually got home at 5am on Friday morning, reassured that my husband's heart was not in failure. I am writing to thank and praise all the staff concerned who were doing an amazing job and never stopped all night. They were kind, caring and efficient giving us the time and explaining each procedure. Thank you all at the LRI emergency department.

  6. Review titled Appalling communication

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Rachel - Posted on 03 May 2024

My mum is currently in LRI following emergency surgery for a perforated bowel 9 days ago. Communication since surgery has been appalling. The surgery was high risk and the Doctors were supposed to call when she was out of theatre with an update - we received nothing we had to ring around trying to find out if she was out of surgery and eventually found her in ITU. We have asked numerous times since to speak to a doctor to discuss the surgery and prognosis, and have been promised a call but have not received one. 5 days after the operation an ITU nurse finally told us what had happened in surgery but she had to caveat she was not a doctor. They have not kept us up to date with results from CT scans, X-rays etc. As ward rounds are out of visiting hours we are unable to be there when there is a doctor around. Mum has memory issues and is being tested for dementia so cannot tell us herself what has been said. Despite filling out 2/3 contact forms and a getting to know you form where we requested to be kept updated we have had no communication.

Appalling service from the staff at LRI - My father has been passed around like a yo-yo and to date his problem has not been resolved. No update from the hospital when he gets moved around & despite asking for call backs from the DRs - Nothing Terrible communication all round.

  9. Review titled Highly professional and kind

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by David Hill - Posted on 10 April 2024

The surgeon was highly skilled careful and thoughtful. The nursing staff , funny, numerous and very kind. The reception , highly efficient and better than anything I could have expected. I had wondered about paying privately for this treatment. I’m so pleased a member of the medical team dissuaded me, as no private health care could have improved upon my care yesterday. I hope the team do receive this feed back. Morale can’t be great right now , they deserve all the praise and rewards they can get. A possibly difficult day, with so many positives. David Hill

  10. Review titled Delay in gynaecologist appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 July 2024

I was referred to Leicester royal infirmary gynaecology in the month of January. At the time of referring, my GP informed me that it will take 22 weeks for me to get appointment. I was patiently waiting for the same.but now it's more than 22 weeks and in my NHS app it still says waiting time as 21 weeks. I am getting continuous menstrula bleeding from Nov 2023 till now and I have no idea why it is happening. I am so disappointed with NHS. Please take necessary actions to make my appointment at the earliest.
