I was admitted to the hospital on 11/03/24 with appendicitis. From that moment until my discharge on 14/03/24 all of the staff at the hospital took such good care of me. I am so grateful to them all.

  3. Review titled The staff on Ward 14 are a credit to this hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Hannah - Posted on 09 February 2024

During our stay on Ward 14, with our poorly 3 month old, the staff could not do enough. Despite clearly being incredibly busy, they always greeted us with a smile, took the time to get to know our daughter and explained everything that was going on. Whenever we needed advice or support, someone was always available.

  4. Review titled Broken NHS

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 January 2024

My son has been waiting for a follow up appoint for over 2 years. He is rapidly losing his sight after a diagnosis of retinitis pigmentosa. Each time we are told the waiting list is very long. No one in dept answers the phone regardless of when you ring. After 10mins ringing and being “1st in the queue” my most recent call was terminated. Totally, totally deflated by our broken NHS that has let a young boy down and consigned him to lose his sight. Gutted., totally gutted.

  5. Review titled Thank you

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sue Grant - Posted on 17 February 2024

On January 10th I was admitted to LRI for plastic surgery following a biopsy that proved positive for melanoma. As I had only recently started having panic attacks and very high BP, I was extremely nervous. From the minute of my arrival to the point of discharge I was treated with utmost care and professional attention. The receptionist for theatre admissions had about thirty patients waiting and each of us was treated calmly and efficiently, as if we were the only person that mattered at that moment. From then on the nurses admitting me, the surgeon, the anaethetist and his assistant could not have been more caring and kind. The nurses on the recovery and discharge wards continued this exceptional role of care and attention. I short, I was tremendously greatful for the care I received that day, which was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life, but made so much easier by the professional care of every member of the team. I could not fault anyone at any point. This week I was given the good news that I am now cancer free and need no further treatment and I was able to thank my consultant in person, but I would like this extended to the whole team. I do thank you all. Sue Grant.

  8. Review titled lovely staff and good care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Maggie - Posted on 29 January 2024

I was admitted onto general practitioner assessment unit following a gp referral to accident and emergency on weds 24 Jan. The dept was extremely busy and hospital was on red alert. Despite this, all the staff I encountered were kind, professional polite and knowledgable. I wish I could have laid down when waiting but it was just too busy for this. After having IV fluids I was admitted onto gpau and again every single member of staff over the 48 hrs I was there provided excellent care. All the staff were respectful and I was treated with such care and dignity. The staff work extremely hard and I have nothing but prise for everyone of them. Thank you all so much-you are very appreciated.

  9. Review titled Waste of time

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sean - Posted on 25 December 2023

I visited the ENT department this month after another 6 month wait. The clinician was completely dismissive of my ongoing ear problems and refused my request for an investigation as to why I was having so many issues with my ears. This is the second time I've visited this ENT department and it will also be the last. I think it's safe to say that I will have to live with my condition until I can afford to go private. A complete waste of time.

  10. Review titled Exceptional

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Zoe - Posted on 14 December 2023

My 3 year old daughter was bought in on Monday via ambulance, from the moment we arrived the staff were incredible! We ended up staying in on ward 10 in the Balmoral Building for 4 days. The staff were so caring and thorough, nothing was too much of an ask, they were all incredible with my daughter. They helped make an awful and hard experience much easier and I’m so thankful for that! Thank you so much!
