  1. Review titled Nothing short of fantastic!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Thomas White - Posted on 07 December 2022

I was rushed into A&E on the 17th November with excruciating abdominal pains, within seconds of arrival i was rushed through in a for triage as well as being provided pain relief, the staff were so reassuring and efficient at what they were doing, after blood tests, antibiotics and a CT scan it was discovered that I had acute appendicitis. I was admitted to a nice quite ward (11) with really friendly and caring staff, who were great not only with myself but other patients on the ward, the following morning i was taken to surgery for the appendix to be removed, the whole process was daunting but again the surgeons and aftercare staff were fantastic, 2 more days on the ward and i was discharged with suitable medication/pain relief. I cannot rate the staff highly enough for the care/knowledge and support provided during my time there.

Dear Thomas, Thank you so much for spending the time to send in the lovely comments regarding your time within the Emergency Department. It is always so lovely for the staff to receive such positive feedback when we know how hard the nurses are working to care for our patients. Once again thank you very much and we hope you are now recovering well. Kind regards Rachel A&E

  2. Review titled Fantastic postnatal care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rosalind - Posted on 30 November 2022

The maternity services at Leighton are truly amazing. I was readmitted to hospital with my two week son - and absolutely everyone, from the midwives and wonderful infant feeding team through to the consultants and cleaners were so caring, knowledgeable and reassuring. Me, my husband and my son will be forever grateful for their care and I would recommend Leighton’s maternity services to anyone.

  3. Review titled Need empathy training!

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 October 2022

I went for my first mammogram recently, and felt the need to make comment about the complete lack of empathy or friendliness from the radiographer. I'm a 52 year old woman and I've had plenty of dealings over the years with various medical professionals, but never have I come across anyone so rude. I was trying my best to go where I needed to be in the machine to get the best readings, but every time I messed up, the radiographer was puffing and blowing at me, quite obviously irritated and impatient. It was the first time I have done this and I was a little apprehensive, but she was so rude to me, if I were a different kind of person, it would put me off going back. I appreciate that staff are busy, but this particular radiographer needs some additional training in people skills.

  4. Review titled Very kind Phlebotomy Manager!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kaelynn - Posted on 05 October 2022

Came into Leighton to see about getting blood tests after being told by my GPs receptionist that they can't help with private care. Despite not being able to get the tests, they were kind and supportive and helped me explore the correct routes. Really put me at ease and they were extremely respectful of preferred pronouns and name.

  5. Review titled Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Darren - Posted on 05 October 2022

I went in for Osteotomy surgery on my knee and from arrival at the treatment centre to leaving the hospital my care was excellent. Booking in was very smooth, all of the staff were friendly and efficient. The anesthetists, my consultant surgeon and the theatre team were excellent. After surgery the recovery team were also very caring and efficient. So then off to Ward 9 for my after care, what can I say, everyone single one of the nursing staff were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they are a credit to the NHS. Thank you to everyone involved in my surgery and care!

  6. Review titled Amazing hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Victoria - Posted on 02 September 2022

This is my 3rd pregnancy and due to moving around a lot it’s the 3rd hospital I’ve been to throughout my pregnancies. I would just like to commend all the members of staff in triage, antenatal and ward 23. They have made me feel so comfortable and helped me so much throughout these last 8 months and yesterday was no exception. Quick and clear service and I was treated perfectly and went home with a full understanding of what was wrong and with medication etc, that has made me feel a million times better already. Every member of staff I’ve seen so far has been lovely and so professional and helpful. I’m really enjoying this pregnancy even though it’s high risk and I’m ill all the time and that is because of all the wonderful staff that have been helping me through it all. Would 100% recommend this hospital. The best hospital I’ve been to and hope the rest of my pregnancy is treated as well as it has been. Thankyou so much Leighton hospital.

  7. Review titled Excellent Radiology Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 September 2022

I attended with my father on a Sunday for his CT scan of his head. The service was first class. All the staff were polite, helpful and courteous. A full explanation was given to my father about what to expect with written information beforehand and on the day. The entire service was so efficient there was no waiting time and we were back in the car within 20 minutes. Thank you team.

My 4 year old son was admitted to ward 17 with a limp and the care he received was amazing, every single person was caring and compassionate. Each doctor made him feel at ease when they were examining him, and the nurses and care assistant ensured we were both ok at all times.

  10. Review titled Outstanding and seamless service between departments

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Corene Newbery - Posted on 25 September 2022

I was very impressed with my recent visit. Every staff member I spoke to knew what to do and where I was to go. I waited only a minute before I was called and walked over to x-ray where staff were friendly and informative. Then straight back to maxillofacial where the doc was ready for my detailed, gentle and informative consultation. Brilliant support from nursing staff and helpful leaflet to take home. Utterly impressed by how smoothly everything went, the joined up processes and teamwork. Even the volunteers at the door were helpful and friendly. Can't praise this service enough. While understanding that the NHS is under considerable pressure, this was the best hospital experience I've had in 20 years! Well done to the teams and management who are clearly getting it right.
