  4. Review titled Much gratitude for such Exceptional and Fantastic Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Lisa Robertson/Bird - Posted on 23 June 2023

Thank you to all staff on the consultant lead team/Maternity Wing. The care you gave my daughter and family before, during and after her labour was exceptional. The ward was immaculate. Everything was explained thoroughly. Choices were given. Our thoughts and feelings listened to. All staff were so attentive, kind, thoughtful, cheerful and caring despite the obvious indications of how hard they were working and how tired they must be. We felt safe, comfortable and thoroughly cared for at all times. Im in awe of every member of staff who attended to my daughters care. You are all amazing, caring and brave people to take the responsibility of such an intense and important role, It was mind blowing watching you all work. Its difficult to find appropriate words for how beautiful you helped make our experience and we will be forever grateful. I hope you are all rewarded in life for your empathy kindness and care you give bringing so many lives into this world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

In June I attended the hospital for some gastric examinations and follow-up procedures. At all times I was treated kindly and with respect. The whole team, from consultant to the receptionist, was very understanding, cheerful and encouraging. I would like to thank them all for their kindness, professionalism and humanity throughout my treatment. Well done and thank you.

  6. Review titled MRI Scan

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Alan Oliver - Posted on 05 August 2023

: I had an MRI scan at the department of radiology at 11.40 on 27th June 2023 for which I was very pleased with the staff on duty and was pleased that it was on time as per my appointment. At the end of the scan I asked when I could expect to hear about my results. I was told that I should hear in about a fortnight. It is now the 5th August and following several calls to the Lister including 01438 314333. I have also visited my GP surgery to ask to speak to any doctor about my situation but was told by the receptionist that my GP would not be informed. I am now in suspense and very concerned and stressed out about how to move forward as my arm and hand is still in considerable discomfort permanently despite having regular physio appointments.

  7. Review titled Amazing care and people

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 July 2023

I was transferred to Lister from QE2 in the late hours of Tuesday night. Of course, A&E was busy but the people who looked after me and my family during this time were beyond amazing. I am in awe of the care, patience and love that these people give throughout their long hours at the hospital so thank you. I was then transferred to majors then into swift ward where the high level of care and love continued. I constantly felt safe and in the right hands to get better. This is the first time I've had to stay in hospital and I couldn't have had better people looking after me. I probably saw next to 100 staff members over the three days I was in and each and every one of you were so kind so thank you. You're all doing an amazing job and thank you for getting me back to myself again!

  10. Review titled No emergency in emergency treatment at Lister A&E

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Danielle Young - Posted on 10 June 2023

i am a 76 year old woman undergoing third round of chemotherapy for stage 3 cancer. i was told by my oncology nurse to go to a&e as badly swollen painful led could be a blood clot and needed to be urgently checked out. arrived at Lister a&e thursday 8 June at13.30. was discharged friday morning at 01.30. 12 hours of waiting in an overcrowded room to be seen for less than 20 minutes by two doctors giving different opinions as to causes of my problem then sent home still not knowing the reasons for my badly swollen leg. A ten miutes ultrasound would have given the answer but instead was told to come back friday morning for a scan. no need for an appointment as referred by a&e. Arrived at 10.30 am, spent ages walking through miles of corridors to find the correct service. Presented myself at about 11am to be told no appointments until Monday. Spent another 3 hours waiting to be prescribed blood thinning injections just in case, to go home and get to welwyn garden city hospital on monday for the scan (or ultrasound- not sure which) Lister a&e should not be allowed to call itself an emergency service. the service there is a joke.
