My daughter came in with dislocated shoulder following a seizure. She has autism as was looked after so well. Nothing was too much. The ladies in AED went above and beyond. A national treasure

Good morning Edward and thank you for your message. Unfortunately, this is the reviews page for Lister Hospital and not the appropriate page to enquire about blood tests. For general enquiries regarding the booking system or for any additional support required, please contact our phlebotomy team direct on 01438 284044. Kind regards, Chris

Review titled Why waste appointments when an email will do?
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 March 2023
I was asked to come in for an appointment as a follow up. I spent 1.15 hrs travelling, then 1.5 hrs waiting. The reason for the delay being seen was that there were overbookings and my consultant was also on call so had already been called to emergencies several times that morning. When i was seen the consultant just wanted to go through the results of my scan - just to say everything is fine. Why could this message not have been sent via an email or a phone call? - all the time spent by me getting there, the added congestion, carbon emissions, and a valuable appointment taken up to deliver a very simple message. Please change your system so that simple test results that are clear can be sent or communicated via telephone rather than having to attend the Hospital.

Review titled Long inpatient waits for a scan
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 March 2023
A family member is still awaiting an MRI scan after 10 days that is required before they can have a procedure to alleviate their condition. A total waste of a bed, care and resource. They are regularly told their scan could be today and are sadly left frustrated and disappointed with medical staff unaware of when the scan will be taking place.

Review titled Fantastic Service

I attended the Paeds ED department on 25.3.2023 with my son who had suffered a trauma to his chin. I wanted to express my thanks for all of the help I received from the staff on duty that day. I could not fault the service. I was checked in, triaged, treated and discharged within 4 hours. The staff were amazing. Keep up the continued hard work.

Throughout my 5 days in the Urology Ward I found all staff polite and positive. Staff were attentive to my immediate welfare and longer term recovery. I am very grateful for the NHS and I am inspired by the staff. Thank you.

Review titled Terrible service
Rated 1 star out of 5

I was admitted to lister to stay over night due to throat problems, which left untreated could have caused my throat to close up blocking my airways. I was given all the proper care by the lister hospital staff who were amazing. When it came to my discharge I was made aware that a request for my prescription of antibiotics was put in at 9am. It is now 5pm and I have not received my prescription from the pharmacy and my condition is deteriorating. Not only has this been a great stress on me but it has also meant that I have been occupying a hospital bed that could have been much better used. This is gross malpractice and shows the fundamental flaws in our healthcare system.

My Mum was admitted to A&E on 23 March 2023. She was seen immediately in Resus and received excellent care from all of the staff. She was then moved to AMC. My family cannot thank everyone enough for looking after her with real compassion and respect until she left us on 29 March. The staff also looked after us while we stayed with Mum. Thank you to all for helping us at such a difficult time.

Went to maternity triage. Waited 45 minutes. Had to go and ask why they are not calling. All together waited 3 hours and more for everything to be done. They really need to improve the time management and quality. A lot of women come with stress to triage and taking this long is unacceptable.
