  1. Review titled Miserable Receptionist in ED

by Sian Brooks - Posted on 15 December 2022

I am sat here at 0722hrs listening and watching a receptionist in ED. Everything is an effort . She is rude to members of the public , the radio is loud and when she can’t hear them she asks them abruptly to repeat themselves making out that they are not speaking clearly . I have just asked her a question regarding medication for my husband whilst we are are waiting in the waiting room to be seen and she has not even given me any eye contact . We are all struggling at the moment whilst working for the NHS but this lady just needs a bit more sympathy with the patients and families and maybe this feedback may help her to make a bit more of an effort at her job role .

  3. Review titled Exceptional care by beautiful staff

    by Steam87 - Posted on 09 January 2023

Just before Christmas 2022 I was admitted into the Coronary Care Unit at Musgrove Park Hospital after experiencing Ventricular Tachycardia. The team there were amazing and went above and beyond my expectations with the care and support they provided. Nothing was too much trouble and it was so nice to be warmly welcomed, addressed by my first name (some wards don't do this) and made to feel so at ease despite my frightening situation. The ward was spotlessly clean and the staff always made sure they, the equipment and the patients were safe and always provided with a smile, warmth and love. The CCU is a total asset to Musgrove Park and the team who work there are exceptionally gifted in what they do.

  4. Review titled Efficient treatment and friendly, cheerful kind staff

    by statussc86 - Posted on 03 February 2023

Despite the enormous pressure I know the NHS are under I received excellent care. I came to A & E by car. I was seen promptly and triaged quickly to the emergency area where I immediately received care and treatment. I was eventually admitted to Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and then the next day to one of the wards. I eventually went to the discharge lounge which seems a very good idea and worked well with volunteers ready to help me or fetch refreshments if I needed that. Not only was the treatment efficient but every single member of staff was friendly, cheerful and kind. I particularly noticed kindness and friendliness of the Porters as they were moving me around the hospital. Everything was done in a professional manner which gave me confidence.

  7. Review titled Awful

Unorganised chaos. Parking is a nightmare, no communication between departments, go to Bridgwater if you have the chance

  8. Review titled Awful

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 November 2023

Admitted to Musgrove for two nights. Discharged on the basis notes would be posted. No discharge form ever issued and all notes lost. I was to remain an outpatient, over a year later I’m still waiting for an appointment. Further referrals have been made, calls made to follow up on the appointment. A complete lack of patient care, empathy and professionalism is all I have received. Some of the nurses are brilliant, some would rather chat to colleagues than answers other patients bells.

  9. Review titled Excellent appointment

by Mike - Posted on 11 November 2022

Needing to attend to have an Endoscopy and remembering a previous encounter several years ago I was pleasantly surprised at how slick and friendly the whole experience was this time around . Staff were very supportive especially as I was extremely nervous following the previous experience . I still would not look forward to having a camera put down my throat but the staff did a very good job of helping me get over my nervousness on the day .

  10. Review titled Very Efficient

by Richard mayes - Posted on 21 November 2022

Fell awkwardly at about 1100 and knew I had fracture my hip. A friend rang 999 and followed instructions. Ambulance arrived after 3 hour wait but thereafter felt I was in the hands of true professionals. In a and e I was treated efficiently and after X-Ray was in a ward to be operated on the following day. Everything was explained to me at each stage. I had regular checks every day following the operation and a visit from the surgeon who described the procedure in detail. After two days I was moved to a private room and again given first class treatment by compassionate and very professional nurses. The follow up by physiotherapists was good and a detailed interview about my home environment by occupational therapists extremely helpful to enable me to think through likely problems when I arrived home. A doctor on the medical side talked to me about my medical condition and gave me advice. Every effort was made to make my life in hospital comfortable and pain free. I was allowed guests at almost any times of the day and they were also impressed by my treatment. The food and choices of meal were good and the service very efficient. In conclusion, at no time did I feel without help if I needed it. On leaving, I wish I'd had time to thank everybody.
