  1. Review titled Absolutely terrible hospital

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Steven Humphries - Posted on 09 June 2023

Treatment at the hospital is appalling. There seems to be incompetency at all levels. From hours waiting for the hospital main phone line to be answered to poor clinical performance and unsafe practice. The working practices at this hospital are horrific and are badly letting down the community that it is meant to serve. Sadly the staff seem to know this but don't really care. Hospital communications are frequently wrong and if you try to work hrough the inadequacies of their system you are presented with a wall of unanswered answer machines. If you enjoy leaving messages the NNUH is definitely the place to go.

I came to a&e on bank holiday Monday as my atrial flutter had started become uncomfortable for me. The doctor I saw at the front door reception area was very reassuring and the nurse wearing a white uniform was brilliant took my blood from my arm and done an ecg., they were both very kind, both caring and offered me alot of reassurance. I could not believe how busy it was and Id like to say You do not get enough credit for your hard work. So thank you so much.

  3. Review titled Absolutely amazing

Rated 5 stars out of 5

From start to finish, every single medical personnel went above and beyond. From my stay in hospital to my out patient appointments. The man who saw me struggling and appeared behind me with a wheel chair. The nurse who saw me struggling in the shop and helped me on her break, the nursing staff, the caring staff, the highly skilled consultant surgeons who pieced me back together. The girls in the plaster room, each and every one of all of them went above and beyond. I feel truly humbled at this amazing institution we all take for granted. How lucky are we. Seriously. God bless you all. Amazing, beautiful people. I am forever in your debt x

  4. Review titled Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had to go to acute medical unit k to be checked over for a recurrence of atrial fibrillation and was given excellent care. They performed lots of tests and monitored me throughout the day. I was there from about 10am to 5pm and they kept me informed of what was going on, performed their duties efficiently and with a smile. They even brought me a couple of sandwiches to keep the wolves from the door lunchtime. The outcome was revised medication for me going forward.

  5. Review titled The greatest thankyou 💓

Rated 5 stars out of 5

After finding out I was pregnant after three miscarriages, I was extremely nervous about what the next few weeks/months would hold. I was treated with such compassion through all of those losses, and going back to EPAU this time around I was full of different emotions. After suffering from what turned out to be implantation bleeding at 7 weeks pregnant, I was scanned and consulted very frequently by the obs/gynae team, which was very reassuring. As my pregnancy progressed and my daughter was found to be 4 weeks too small for gestational age and i was found to have a significant placenta previa, we were able to be scanned once and at times twice a week to ensure that our precious baby was being monitored. Every doctor, midwife, MCA, sonographer acknowledged how worrying our journey was and never failed to give us the love and compassion we needed. Our beautiful daughter was born via elective section at 36 weeks after a scary few days prior to this being monitored for premature rupture of membranes and a bleed from my previous. I can't thank the staff enough for how well we were looked after during and after the section. Being a fellow NNUH healthcare professional myself I couldn't feel more proud of the hospital I work for, and couldn't feel more grateful for the safe delivery of our precious rainbow baby

The sadness of her loss to the family can only be helped knowing how brilliant the team were throughout the Hospital.Thank you on behalf of our entire family and her beloved daughter Ann devastating loss but helped and supported so so much by yourselves.

The care I received in the Corony Unit and KIlverston Ward was beyond outstanding by all the nurses and Doctors, for which I am extremely grateful. Please pass this on to all concerned.

  10. Review titled Very poor service delivery

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by graham gamblin - Posted on 20 July 2023

I have been waiting for a very long time to receive an effective medication for my Interstitial Cystitis. I have had several telephone consultations which have been a waste of time. On several occasions the specialist I thought I would speak to has been "unavailable" and a junior nurse has been allocated who has know nothing about my condition and been unable to progress my treatment. My suspicion is that people are dragging their feet for some reason. I even saw my own consultant privately who agreed to expedite matters and agreed with the treatment plan. This achieved nothing. It feels to me that my waiting for treatment has been "weaponised" and manipulated against me. It has taken literally years to get to this point with endless trials and error and offhand responses.
