Review titled Ward 10, amazing unit.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 November 2023
I went to ward 10 via A & E. This was my 2nd visit in 5 years. Although the staff were all different apart from an HCA who remembered me from last admission (she is a great character btw!) the unit was still superb. The staff are lovely at every level. You're kept informed at every step of the way and nothing is too much trouble. The professionalism of the team is outstanding and they are great at keeping spirits up at what can be an anxious time. Well done to you all!

Review titled Staff were fantastic
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Couldn't have asked for better treatment from any of the staff during my stay, even when they were so busy and short staffed that nurses were being sent from other wards. Whatever the role everyone was friendly and helpful. My only suggestion would be to have a time/volume limit or headphone rule regarding the TVs. I was in a bay with three others on the ward and one patient had their TV on loud volume until midnight, long after the rest of us had turned lights off to go to sleep. It didn't feel fair when it's already difficult enough to sleep with so many people moving about, everyone having regular OBS etc.

Review titled Fantastic from start to finish
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jenny Selby - Posted on 05 October 2023
I visited Peadiatric A and E with my little one who was suffering from some breathing difficulties. We were seen almost immediately and my concerns were taken seriously. All the staff that we encountered from nurses, to doctors, to radiolosts were fantastic, friendly, professional and brilliant with my little one. We were amazingly cared for and were able to go home with the correct treatments with the reassurance that we could come back should the condition worsen. Thank you so much for you first class care.

Review titled Quite An Experience For A Monday Night
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Louise Harrison - Posted on 07 November 2023
I attended A&E on 9th October via Ambulance, after queuing with 8 other Ambulances for an hr I eventually got into Ambulatory Care. I had an X-Ray within 30mins, I got the results quickly where I was told I had broken my tibia & fibia & need surgery the next day. I was then moved into a corridor where I stayed for the next 9hrs. I appreciate how extremely manic it was and every single person went out of their way to help me and make sure I was comfortable but I don’t find lying on a trolly in a corridor overnight for that long at all acceptable.

Review titled Fabulous care.

I arrived in A and E feeling a lot of pain after falling down stairs on holiday in Spain. From entering the door of A and E every single member of staff went over and above to not only look after my injuries but to treat me with the utmost kindness. I was treated with dignity and respect at all times. All the staff were professional and kind and I received a treatment plan that suited my needs.

Review titled Amazing care

I was sent to the Surgical Assessment Unit by my GP and within a few hours I'd had several tests and an ultrasound to quickly identify the problem. After waiting on the Ambulatory Care unit I was admitted to Ward 15, where I stayed for a total of 5 nights. All of the staff I encountered from arriving at the hospital to being discharged were brilliant. I felt fully informed about all parts of my care and everything was always explained very clearly. They made sure that I was kept as comfortable as possible both before and after my surgery. Even when it was clearly very busy, the staff were always friendly and were as quick as they could be to help regardless of what was needed. While I hope I never have to come back, I would be more than happy to be cared for by any of the staff I met and anyone else who needs to go should be reassured.

Sent to A&E in the late afternoon of 21 September by my GP with very low pulse rate. Admitted at Cramlington to ambulatory care. Spent a few hours being checked and tested to identify the cause. Nurses and duty doctor were brilliant, efficient & caring.

Review titled Hospital under pressure

Short comings are down to pressure of admissions. However that is no help when in extreme pain needing immediate treatment.
